Steve --- 11 years ago -

The board meeting is tonight at 7pm in the pool/community center. On the agenda is discussing amending the covenants to allow a yearly community yardsale.

Please come support this!!!

RedMulch --- 11 years ago -

wow...I should go........

Mago4058 --- 11 years ago -

What a waste, the board already had their minds set....however the debate was worth the time spent waiting!

whatchamacallit --- 11 years ago -

I thought you guys voted to have an annual neighborhood yard sale a few years ago?!?! Why must there be another vote or am I wrong?

Mago4058 --- 11 years ago -

That's what I thought, but oh well.. I'll just sell my stuff on kingwood yard sales since that's okay lol

FANCY PANTS --- 11 years ago -

Better not let them know where you live because they might say you are running a business out of your home if you are selling on KYS. I think this board is just that bad.

Mago4058 --- 11 years ago -

Haha, no I cya and asked about selling on the kW classified FB page. The old fart said that's different because I'm arranging a time and not causing a traffic jam. Lol he has no idea what he messed with in saying that... I finally got to use that year of law school! Lol

Steve --- 11 years ago -

Mago Good to meet you. I am the the guy who brought the whole family up there. Yeah, there was a definite hypocrisy to the older fella with brown hair and his thoughts.

He obviously has not read the deed restrictions in a while.

Red, ya shoulda been there.

Whatchamacallit. The board voted to have a trial run a year ago. It was modestly successful but there was no time to prepare and there was little coordination/ publication.

Of the non-yea votes, it seems that one board member could not realize his own hypocrisy, one lady was more concerned that (quote) we don't become like North Woodland Hills and have a burnt orange house" (end quote) and one fella who looked like he would rather not go on record as having made an actual choice.....

Steve --- 11 years ago -

Oh and FYI there is nothing in the restrictions that say you cannot display items in the street in front of your residence and have them exchange money with you in your vehicle on the street.

There is nothing the board can enforce in that scenario.

(now the City may have an issue with that LOL)

LMAO! Wow - major tensions between the North and the South.

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 11 years ago -

Can you please talk to them about the woods behind Walgreens? Its not safe. The wild cats and raccoons are dangerous. They killed my pig. AHHHHHH

Steve --- 11 years ago -

I was REALLY disappointed that she "went there"

There is not such a discernible difference in the two...

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 11 years ago -

What a waste, the board already had their minds set....however the debate was worth the time spent waiting!

Some of these boards are out of control with what they will and will not do. A lot of them need to be tasered.

waterfall --- 11 years ago -

That is so irrelevant to the issue.

So she must assume that all other villages that have these community yard sales are full of trashy people. Come on now. It sounds like she needs to pull the stick out of her...

It's not like this concept is new to Kingwood. It works in other villages. What is their problem?

Yeah, was this issue brought up at the board meeting?

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 11 years ago -

Oh look out he is probably planning on running for a higher office.

waterfall --- 11 years ago -

Oh look out he is probably planning on running for a higher office.

Moving to Royal Shores? LOL!

Steve --- 11 years ago -

All the vicissitudes aside there were three board members who did vote Yes on the proposal. I did like that the proposal was run by an atty to check for legality and that it was put up for vote in the proper fashion.

planemom --- 11 years ago -

The only way to change the board is to find people who want to be on it and have them run for office. As frustrating as these people are they may be the only ones willing to do the work.

Steve --- 11 years ago -

There is truth to that. I flat do not have the time. I would be all over it like a duck on a junebug but my wife and kids are my priority.

kwoodmom2 --- 11 years ago -

I've seen the burnt orange house and it was hideous, glad they made them paint it. I'm in SWH

Friday --- 11 years ago -

Not to be a smartellic you have ebay c list and kys. What's the benefit? How bout doing away with the k sticker and use a state id to access parks?

MissPris --- 11 years ago -

Do I smell a RHOSWH in the works?

RedMulch --- 11 years ago -

one lady was more concerned that (quote) we don't become like North Woodland Hills and have a burnt orange house" (end quote)

That house got painted. It is dark green now........

Mago4058 --- 11 years ago -

Now what is wrong with an orange house, lol...It's better than booboo brown or puke green...lol

Glad to meet you Steve, gorgeous family! You missed that said lady complaining about having to move her vehicle so that Best Trash can do their job of taking her trash, first world problems lol (ps I'm not a fan of best trash, but after countless phone calls they've gotten better).

Also those that were against it had the arguement it would bring more traffic...HELLO you BOUGHT a house KNOWING it was on a BUSY road...plus doesn't the church, swim team and school mess with traffic on busy roads as well.
Now we can get 600+ signatures for yes, even though when we sent in a vote 39 out of 39 came back saying yes!

I'd join the board if I could figure out how to get on there, at least we have some young blood now and he voted YES!

This just makes me wonder if back when we voted about raising our fees everyone said NO and the board over spent so they just ignored the votes.
