Anyone know of any Nail Salons in KW or Atascocita that speak English as their first language. I am having a hard time communicating with the Asian nail technicians. Thanks!

I know. I went to the new one up at the new Kroger today and i thought she said "do you want some wine?" But she actually said "do you want and eyebrow wax?" Boy was i dissapointed.

Thank you to everyone for the ideas. I will call the recommended salons.

Boy was i dissapointed.?

I bet you were, Mulchie! LOL

My nail salon, I think it's called Empress at the corner of WLH and Upper Lake, used to have a sign up telling the techs to only speak English when they were working on a customer. In the beginning it actually worked. Lasted all of about two months, though, and then the owner had graciousness to take her silly a** signs down.

During pedis I always assume they're talking about my parts.

I never thought that. It could be, but then they never know which one of us can actually understand their language.

I get nervous when they laugh. I figure they are talking about someone who just left.

OR, your parts.

I wish all would stand up and say "I like your salon but I don';t like the Vietnamese Cross Talk" It is America and it is considered rude to do. There are so many salons, Do we have to put up with it? Why should we? We pay their living. I have had them stare at my engagement/wedding rings and start asking all kinds of questions like what does my husband do for a living until I finally put my foot down and said That's Personal! ALSO WHY DO WE LET THEM PUT THE FOOT SCRAPINGS OFF THE TOOLS INTO THE WATER WITH OUR FEET!!!!

I have never had a mani or a pedi, mostly cos of these types of threads...lol.

Trisha --- 11 years ago -

Try Nails by Michelle. She's on fb and Instagram. She's fabulous.

Dorothy Parker --- 11 years ago -

I don't care if they are talking about me. If my nails look good and I'm happy with the service, who cares?

YourMomsOutside --- 10 years ago -

Dorothy you can choose to be "flip" but if they were speaking English (in America around Americans while taking your money) talking about you (or not about you, just cross talking) you would care. This is also part of a bigger issue of NON-assemilation into our society. Keep the native tongue for home and such. Don't take my money while you trash talk me or just talk to others while working on my body - that is about plain 'ol R-E-S-P-E-C-T and decent Customer Service. To be "happy with the the service" while this kind of stuff goes on may be o.k. for some but not others.
