There's been a noticeable drop in traffic at KYS over the last couple days, and we've been told there are some technical issues for some people. Have any of you had problems accessing KYS in the last 1-5 days?

However last week when KU was having issues, bookoo was too.

I can't get there from the button on KU which is my typical way of getting to KYS. It takes me to the suddenlink page.

If I just do a search and go to "Kingwood Yard Sales" then I can get there.

@*LOL* -- could you please send me a screenshot of that suddenlink page you see? 

I can just got a screen shot of what happens with the button for kys. I don't know how to post pics though.

Yes, LOL, that does help.

To take a screenshot, hold the Alt key and press the PrtSc or Printscreen key. Then open up the Paint program and Ctrl-V to paste the picture. Then save it and you can send it as an attachment.

Another request for LOL and Valentine: In a browser window, do you get different behavior if you use www.kingwoodyardsales.com vs kingwoodyardsales.com (without the www)?

i've posted on ku for what, 9 years? and i always forget how to post pics. do you still have to go through photobucket? why can't pics be directly posted to this page like on fb? i'm very computer illiterate, so forgive me if that's unattainable. :)

i typed in "kingwoodyardsales.com" and it took me to the same page as i emailed to you- at this address.

i'm getting the same thing on my mobile app and pc. 

i typed in www.kingwoodyardsales.com and got the same thing just now.

For now, there's no way to post pics directly on KU. If you have a place to upload it (like photobucket, or flickr, or instagram, etc), that's still the way to go. 

I too have had this same problem. I have to google search then link to the site. My bookmarks no longer work. 

Thanks to all who have helped diagnose the problem. It appears that the issue is with Suddenlink/Centurylink's DNS servers. It's a long-standing problem (going on 5? 6? years now) every since they decided to hijack misspelled website addresses. Since SL/CL are unlikely to fix the problem (unless a whole lot of you complain*), I have two solutions to recommend:
1) use kingwood.bookoo.com instead of kingwoodyardsales.com. Same site, the only difference is the domain in the address bar.
2) change your computer's DNS settings to something (anything!) other than what suddenlink/centurylink give you automatically. I'd suggest google's public DNS or opendns, as shown here:

*if you do complain, make sure you escalate to a higher level of tech support, and tell them that "your crappy DNS servers are not resolving kingwoodyardsales.com, even though the DNS records are valid and have not changed in several years" 

I am so computer illiterate that a lot of what you said is lost on me. But I did just try the button to KYS and was able to get there. I also tried a search for it and I was able to get there too. So something just improved

On the flip side, I just tried putting Kingwood Underground into my browser search like I usually do and I got that darn suddenlink page again.

A lot of people are like me, they go to Kingwood underground first for a little gossip fix, and to see what's up in the community and then they go to KYS.

I liked it better when I could toggle back and forth between them. Why did you take the button for KU off of the KYS home page? I really miss that feature and I think it probably added traffic to both places.

Yes!, I liked that a lot better too! 

I haven't been able to get to it in about a week.
