Can anyone recommend a veterinarian, hopefully in or at least near, kingwood that isn't grossly over priced? I seriously doubt the vaccines cost that much more here than where I moved from, but the prices are doubled at least! Why? 

For routine vaccinations, I stopped going to our regular vet, who charges $49 just to walk through the door. PER PET.

We use the mobile vet clinics that you can find on any given weekend in parking lots at HEB, CVS, etc.

I use the vet for everything else.

You can also give your own vaccinations (except Rabies) and purchase single doses for very cheap through jefferspet.com 

Call Loop 494 Animal Hospital and ask what it will cost you. As far as I know, they do not charge an extra office visit fee and they have been very reasonably priced every time I take my pets there and they are very nice people.

Go to a farm/tracker store and buy the seven in one shots and give them yourself. Price $7.00

FYI Animal Care Center of Lake Houston (Huffman) will only take 2 new patients per day. Call early! Agree, Mobile Vet Clinic is awesome. If they cannot perform the needed care, they will quickly refer you to a regular vet office. I had one dog that only used Moble Vet Clinic all his 15 years. Dr.s Shaw and Shaw are wonderful. They have vaccine packages that are lower cost. Low cost vaccinations events happen occasionally. I have seen announcements at Walgreens.

We love Dr. Lee at Lone Star Veterinary on Atascocita Road behind Walmart. They have an incredible well care plan that has saved us a lot of money (includes unlimited office visits - most vets are $50 just for an office visit).
