The pope is a moron. He deny's God. He's the one believing in the bad science. 

Pretty sure the Pope isn't a moron, but also pretty sure he would be uncomfortable being used by the writer for a specific political agenda. It would be equally easy to use the pontiff's words against abortion or same sex unions in a similar manner against democrats.

The pope is not liberal or conservative, rebublican or democrat, he is just Catholic. There is nothing doctrinally new in any of this. I think the freedom to follow reason, and it being impossible to be at odds with doctrine is well over 100 years old, maybe older (did that one from memory).

What makes Pope Francis different I think, is he is a good pastor. People I know who have met him all come away moved by just his presence, like they can feel they are in the presence of a good man. And that he is a Jesuit, which means he is not very concerned about consequences of anything he does or says, as long as he believes it is from God.

The moon is not a light. Science has shown us that it is a reflector. There is one light, the sun. The moon is dark and simply reflects light from the sun.

Yes, they only last a few hours at the most and they also reflect light that is refracted by the earth's shadow. Hence, "blood" moon.
