Our long time doggie dentist retired and I'm searching for a new one. The vet that took over his practice starts at $800. and goes up depending on what extras are needed. The last time our dog had to visit the dentist the old vet charged $300. and it included 2 extractions and cleaning. And he was board certified. Most vets that do dentals are not. Obviously I want the best care for my dog but the prices have gotten ridiculous. Does anyone know a reasonably priced good vet?
There is a vet in Pearland that my friend goes to. He is a DDS specialist and charges around $120 for teeth cleaning I think? But I don't remember his name?? There's a start for you to research. My GF is out of town for a week.
If you go with a specialist, the price goes way up. If all you need is a cleaning and possible extractions, many senior veteran dentists can do that. Do you actually need a specialist? Karen Bookout @ Suburbia North in Spring is seasoned and done many many dentals.
I just took mine to Big Thicket Vet in New Caney off FM 1485.

I think that was very reasonable. I got in right away, they looked at her, did the surgery that day and I picked her up later. No long wait in waiting room, they were nice, explained everything well. I would recommend them...
