Is it so outrageous of an idea to make doors and windows waterproof on a home? I mean we do it with boats. Why can't we maybe put Windows higher up and make doors and windows water tight?

I'd pay extra for it. Is it feasible?

Well, they put windows where they are so we can see out of them, but I knew a family growing up that had windows up high in all the bedrooms. They let in light, but we'd stand on the bed to see out.

Maybe have thinner smaller ones downstairs. But if we could make them water tight, it wouldn't matter.

From experience, I can tell you that flood water will still get in, through the weep holes in your brick, between the foundation and the brick, even if your doors and windows hold the water out (which it won't), you will still have water inside.

I don't think glass could withstand the force of water. If it could, we couldn't afford it.
