Anyone been lately? I am sure it has been over a year for me.

I went to their web page looking for an idea of something different to try and it isn't the same website. I thought maybe I had gone to the wrong page, but nope.

They used to have a great website with descriptions of all the dishes so when I was in the mood for something different I could see what sounded interesting.

Now it is a cheesy cheap looking web page with no descriptors at all. It doesn't even indicate what is spicy. There are also Thai dishes listed now which I wouldn't mind trying but again, no description at all.

And a section of dishes called MeiFun...WTH is that? 

The original owners sold to their nephew I believe. 

It's gotten expensive. Food and the service is still good, though. And yes, there are more spicy options. Appetizers and dinner for 3 plus tip $93

We went to Hin's this week, take out, actually. We had the same amount of food, excellent quality, without ordering beverages, for 2/3's the price of Mencius. Appetizers and dinner for 3 plus tip $60 

Mencius has always been expensive. Very high quality, but overpriced IMO. I'm an Oriental Gardens man. 

Mencius has always been my favorite, here- I don't mind paying more, if the quality is better- 

Tink, you might re-check your bill- it may have been added up incorrectly- I looked at their prices online, and they were right around Hunan's prices- 

Mencius is top notch ! Food and service with new owners is great 

My favorite dish served at Mencius and Hins, in similar amount, $12.95 at Mencius, $9.95 at Hins Gardens. We don't eat at Hunan Gardens.

"Top Notch"? I wouldn't go that far. 

We ordered delivery from Mencius last week. Two entrees, rice, friend wonton, two egg rolls and a large soup was $45-$50 including delivery fee, taxes and tip. It fed three adults for two meals. That's pretty reasonable to me. 

I'm ok with their prices although they are a bit high, but did a take out last week for lunch; my shrimp toast was burned, the Gen Joes chicken was really hard. I was a bit disappointed but because I love that shrimp toast I will give it another go. Probably in person this time.
