My internet has been out since the storm and SuddenLink says there are hundreds still out in KW.

Anyone else having issues?

G r u m p y --- 10 years ago -

Mine works, just been really slow lately.

Gigix4 --- 10 years ago -

Mine is just fine. Hasn't missed a lick.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 10 years ago -

Still out here. Having to use my business DSL line to run the house for internet.

BTW.......... my HD Tivo box isn't working either.

Dotti --- 10 years ago -

The power outage fried my modem so DH went and got another one from the office on WLH.

We just got back from buying a new router because that went out also.

My DH called 3 times and they kept telling him there was still an outage. I realized there was no lights on the modem. Our modem was battery backed up and was completely dead.

We called when he got back from the office because we didn't realize the router wasn't working also. My DH was told at the local office that someone would be out today because they gave him the bottom of the line modem with no phone line connection for our fax machine. We were going to sit around ad wait for them until the rep on the phone told us our appointment was for August 4th. I don't believe anything they say.

Check all your connections because maybe your modem got fried also.

Thanks. I bought my own modem awhile back cuz of issues. It has all the lights on except "online".

Damn... guess I will be buying a new one. Will call SuddenStink again and see whata up.

Our house was struck by lightning. It fried our modem and router (along with almost every electronic in the house) We bought new ones and hooked them up and they can't get the modem to Connect. I am wonder if our cables are fried or we still don't have internet back. We live in hunters ridge. Anyone still without internet?

Same here Tera. Bought a new modem and router and no joy. Cable company has to come out and check the coax cable.

A tree in my back yard was hit. I lost alot of electronics.

I have an electrican coming out to install a surge protector for the enitr house. This got expensive.

I am in sherwood trails.

Ours got so expensive we are having to claim it on home insurance! We got our internet to work. Our cables in the attic were fried and had to be replaced! We are still finding thing that are not working. It knocked out our AC. Thank goodness it was a easy fix and covered under warranty. Anything plugged into our TV via HDMI fried.

That was a scary storm!

Tera --- 10 years ago -

Are y'all having to cut down the tree? My daughters room is right by the tree that got struck and the security system that is on the window were shot all the way across the room.

Our Garage door, sprinkler system, garage radio, ps3, roku, directtv box, and many other things are all fried.

Hi Serenity - Ashley here with Suddenlink. Are you still experiencing issues with your service? If so, please feel free to contact me directly - I'd be happy to help. My email is socialsupport-AT-suddenlink-DOT-com. Thanks!

You can have the issue we have. My DH went to local office on Friday and picked up a loaner modem. Local office says we are sending someone today and promises him.
We call them customer service back because we didn't realize the router was out also and the lady on the phone says no - you have an appointment Monday. We were waiting for them to come Friday.
I get a call on Saturday from someone that must have been working from home because she was answering personal phone calls and kids were in the background. She says I can see your service is running I will cancel your appoint. No we still need them to switch out the modem. The loaner has no slot for the fax machine.
OK. She says my appointment is on the 4th from 4-6. My DH got home at 3:30 I got home at 4:30. They never showed up.
He called them yesterday to find out what happened and the claim someone came and no one was home. BULL!!!
They say the next available appointment is Saturday. I so wish I had other options because I would change service so fast if it was possible. I am so fed up with them an they are constantly raising the prices. I have been with then since 2007 and it has only gotten worse.

I really hope eventually AT&T is an option.

Our Suddenlink internet used to drop every day but I solved that problem by dropping them a couple of years ago. No problems at all since then. I think it has only dropped once since then.

I love storms! But yes tbis one was a gnarly scary storm.

I lost cable, computer is acting up, garage door opener fried, sprinker system control box (motherboard fried and blew the dial off the box), and a GFI outlet was fried.

SuddenLink Technician and a sprinkler system technician are coming out tomorrow. The Electrician and garage door opener installer are coming on Friday.

I hope not all my coax cable is fried but we will see. I bought a new modem and router incase the others do not work, I get all lights on the modem except "online". My tv and entertainment boxes all seem ok, which I am grateful for cuz they are all 3 months old. AC did not se to be damage. The tree is in the backyard opposite side from AC unit. The tree is about 20 feet from the CB box and where the cable comes into the house.

A friend of mine has a brother who has a master degree in Forestry and said to wait, a pine tree can survive a lighting strike.

The Electrician will be installing a surge protector for the entire house. I do not want to go through this again.

Our AC went out on Friday and it's hopefully getting fixed tomorrow. My landlord is using a warranty company so it is taking forever. It has cost me a fortune between eating out, buying a portable air conditioner and I'm about ready to lose my mind. Everyone in my house is at each others throats.

Tera --- 10 years ago -

We claimed it on our insurance. We had 3,100 in electrical damage (it almost burnt the breaker box up and started a fire). It knocked shingles off the roof. The sprinkler box was friend along with garage door opener. The AC thermostat fried.
And a zillion other things. The insurance company will pay to replace and remove your tree if needed. Our is obviously toast.

Good luck. We have a house full of workers this last week!

We are also installing a whole home surge protector. Let's just hope no hurricanes come this way

NewMommy --- 10 years ago -

Mine went out during the storm too. I called several times and was told on Saturday everything was fixed and it was just me. They couldn't get anyone out for a week. In the meantime I figured out the power adapter for the modem is fried. I'm currently using a power supply from an outdoor speaker of mine to power the modem. Between Friday and today I've spoken to 9 Suddenlink reps and every one of them suck. I was so frustrated by the horrible customer service and different answers that I cancelled my phone and cable today. I'd drop Internet too if I had another option. Guess I'll swap my modem at the local office.

Mine problem was the adapter in the attack that connects all the cables in the house got fried. (Plus my modem and router) if you can get in attic and replace it you might save yourself a lot of trouble!
