When you are in the middle area on KW drive waiting to cross into KW Lakes, and I am in the cross walk, I have the right of way ... You were at a dead stop. You were not willing to wait for traffic and chose to look at me and gun it. I dove for cover. I doubt you will ever see this but I hope that others do see this and, like me in the future, not take our cross walk rights for granted. Had it not been so obvious your blatant disregard of right and wrong and my safety, I wouldn't bother posting this. One day your aggressive nature will get the best of you. Rant over.

Wow...what a scumbag.

Did your crosswalk signal say you can go?

Dorothy Parker --- 10 years ago -

There isn't a light there, from the sound of the post.

Sounds like the driver was waiting for traffic to clear to cross KW drive into that village, got impatient, and ignored the fact that someone was in the crosswalk.

I can't picture this area right now but if there is no crosswalk designated I'm not sure how much right of way you have? I know at the KW Drive and Kings Crossing intersection (near Chickfila) I see people all the time walking or riding a bike across the intersection going towards the Chickfila and cars in the median area are looking to the right for oncoming cars vs to the left where the walkers are coming from. I have seen a few people almost get hit and then seem to blame the drivers for not seeing them.

It seems pedestrians dont always have the right of way.

Sec. 552.005. CROSSING AT POINT OTHER THAN CROSSWALK. (a) A pedestrian shall yield the right-of-way to a vehicle on the highway if crossing a roadway at a place:(1) other than in a marked crosswalk or in an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection; or(2) where a pedestrian tunnel or overhead pedestrian crossing has been provided.(b) Between adjacent intersections at which traffic control signals are in operation, a pedestrian may cross only in a marked crosswalk.(c) A pedestrian may cross a roadway intersection diagonally only if and in the manner authorized by a traffic control device.

They were in a crosswalk. All those are if they are crossing in a place other than a crosswalk.

Jpgirl --- 10 years ago -

All 3 places ( Kingwood Dr and Kingwood Lakes subdivision)were she is talking about have marked cross walks.
