Any Harley riders know of a really good motorcycle trainer in Kingwood for learning how to maneuver and make tight turns on an Ultra Classic and Street Glide. We have seen an HPD officer practicing at the Harley dealer making turns like we have never seen and we would love to ride like that.

Good first start is the dealership.

I checked with them...they said they don't have anything like what I saw that officer doing and the ride like a pro class doesn't come close to it either i checked that out too...it was crazy what he was doing...may just look for him again and go talk to him next time and see if he teaches..I went back to harley and they said he goes there quite often to ride and that they have seen him ride and he is definitely good but he doesn't go inside the store often

Check out 'Awesome Cycles' advanced rider classes. They're over on Kuykendal.

Nobody cares about a Harley.

SleightOfHand --- 10 years ago -

The motorcycle officers go through their own training to be able to do that. They can do some really cool stuff on their bikes. Talk to one and ask if they know any officers willing to train civilians.

rockin6768 --- 10 years ago -

sleight of hand, i take it you are an officer do u know any who want to train someone...I just wonder how many of the other harley owners in kingwood would like to learn to ride like that

The Sicilian --- 10 years ago -

I think Mancuso Harley on 610 near Durham/Shepard had a riding class, think they still do.

Butterbean --- 10 years ago -

I've done Mancuso's out on 290. It's not advanced. Good stuff, though.

There is a video called Ride Like a Pro. It is done by a motor officer in Florida who teaches police officers the art of riding. You can find it at www.ridelikeapro.com It is really good and goes into great detail and gives many tips on practice as well. You will enjoy it and it will definitely help you.

Mark, thats a nice bike. Imagine if you sold it and redistributed the proceeds, how many people you could feed.

Actually three - including the dead/maimed...

Voted comment of the day by people that actually have common sense.

Well I finally made contact with HPD officer at the Harley Dealer. And that guy can ride, my God!! He was a nice guy and said he would be interested in teaching others the skills and techniques but from what he has seen most riders don't want to learn based on egos. I talked to him about the Ride like a Pro and he said yes he definitely knows about that too, but unfortunately many who attend those classes seem to burn clutches and go through sets of brakes. He said he knows why that happens and that it should not be that way. I got his number and he said he would be happy to teach a class provided there were serious riders in Kingwood who wanted to actually learn how to really ride. He said he also has some way to protect the motorcycles from being scratched and seriously damaged should they hit the ground while learning. Anyway Im gonna try to round up 3 to 4 people because he said he will only teach small classes to ensure the techniques and skills are taught with plenty of one on one instruction and help. I asked him how much and he said worry about getting the riders first and then call him because most people aren't interested in learning to ride that well, which I though was odd. So if anybody knows some interested Harley owners let me know.
