Is this restaurant still around? I remember one in the shopping center where Olive Garden, but haven't been there since I was a kid. I used to think it was really good, but like I said, I was a kid.

I want to bring a dinner to someone who in the hospital. She has been there for a long time and is craving a home cooked meal instead of hospital food.

I can't cook anything for her for a few days due to my schedule but I thought maybe I could bring something "almost homemade" from there. She is not on any diet restrictions.

Is it any good?

It's still on 1960 at the same place I think. Haven't eaten there in years, so no idea on the quality.

I ate there once a very long time ago, yuck!!

There are other decent places in the area. What do they like? Zio's is waaaay better than Olive Garden. There's Pappas sea food too in that area.

You might want to try la Madeleine at KWD/WHLP. It's the closest thing I've found to homemade takeout food. We get food there often, and love it.

Try Lubys

Polly Ester --- 9 years ago -

The thing is she is craving food like Thanksgiving. She specifically said she was craving turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes, etc. I may just end up roasting a turkey breast this weekend for her and slicing it up. I can make dressing and potatoes pretty easily.

Butterbean --- 9 years ago -

I think that's called comfort food, Polly.

Not my preference today, but I think Luby's has all that you can stand.

Check it out PE.... Lubys would probably taste like a T bone to someone stuck in the hospital...

What about the Humble city Cafe or what its called? Cracker Barrel has home cookin.

Black eyed pea is much better than Loogies eww. I like their turkey with gravy and dressings there.
La Madelaine is really good too, love that place!

Lubys has great turkey and dressing.

Humble city cafe for sure!

I agree! I would want Humble City Cafe if I were stuck in the hospital.

Actually, Cheddars has pretty good food! It's not too far from Olive Garden
