Some questions? If 20 people want to pick up at 6:00, won't there be a long line for all those people to drive up get their orders and pay? What about those that add items at the last minute when they are picking up? Will that be allowed, while everyone behind them waits?
As the program is launched the number of spots per hour has been limited to reduce the occurrence of this happening. There are 6 parking spaces associated with the service behind the pharmacy drive through with a phone number on each one that rings directly to the desk. If you have last minute add ons we ask that you call the store prior to your arrival and speak with the clicklist attendant on duty so they can select and add those items to your order. This will help to facilitate a quick smooth pick up process.
I think this is service a boon for busy people. I hope i works. But I see it bottle necking already. Limiting time slots is good for flow. But also limits business. If it became so popular that I went online and could never get a slot, eventually I would give up. Make it work, Kroger!
They have been doing this for over 15 years up north at Shop Rite. It seems to work fine for them. I loved it. Shop Rite was directly behind my job so I was able to put in my order at lunch time and pick up when I left work. I hope this works out for them because it's a great idea for people who can drive but not walk around the store. It's also great for parents that don't want to drag their children around the store.
They have had grocery delivery for decades up north. Let's see if Texas can make us proud and offer this service to those they can help. And then maybe get into delivery?? One can only hope? And dream?
I picked up my first order today and this service gets a big thumbs up from me. There was NO line at the time of pickup. I had one question and they called a supervisor to answer it. The quality of the produced was amazing - better than I would have picked. I will use this service frequently - it's better than walking up and down the aisles, especially at the huge Marketplace.
