My daughter has texted me that the police are at KHS because there was a threat of a school shooting that was to take place at todays pep rally. I hate to keep bothering my daughter for updates but I can't find any info online. Does anyone have any information?

a4539333uu --- 8 years ago -

My daughters home sick but her friends just text her the same info. But added 3 people were in custody.

It wasn't Mark, it was a kid named Patrick

a4539333uu --- 8 years ago -

The word around the school is the pep rally is cancelled. A freshman named patrick posted on snapchat a kill list and his plan to start shooting at the pep rally. I told my daughter its all rumor until we know more. But I heard alot of kids were leaving for the day.

a3298803uu --- 8 years ago -

Ive heard the same. Apparently the kid said there would still be a shooting at lunch. No email or notification from school so I emailed one of the principals to ask what is going on. Word is they may be dismissing early. Mine is begging to come home and said the boy in question has brought a gun to school before. I cant see how he would still be attending school if that were the case but apparently this boy still has a group of friends who support his kill plan. Thats disturbing!

From school admin in response to my inquiry:
There were/are two separate rumors going around about violence being conducted at the pep rally. We are well aware of all that is being said and have been working closely with both Humble ISD Police and Houston Police to investigate each one of the rumors. Because today would have been the seniors' last pep rally we decided to postpone it. I know our Public Information Office if working on sending out information to our parent base ASAP. I have heard nothing about dismissing school early today. I want to reassure you that the students are safe.

It takes an act of congress to kick a student out of school these days.

Can confirm this is not true. These are rumors, this kid may or may not have been serious in his threat but much of the talk around him is exaggerated rumors. No one is really worried, if your kid is telling you they are worried, they just want to go home lol. Seriously almost nobody is worried.

I heard it was Fuzz, I mean Mark McElroy

Is it really your place to say no one is worried. I am not one to over react but this is not a joke and if it's meant to be a joke then it's a sick one at that.

jackass --- 8 years ago -

Good luck with that, they're allowed to attack fuzz.

Its Texas, you'll see a gun occasionally...doesn't it make the school safer to have armed students?

LOL - So this what 8 years of Obama and years of anti-bullying school propodanda has created? A self-entitled, little sissy whose only reaction to a joke is 1) threaten a lawsuit 2) restrict their freedom of speech 3) change your screen name to a flower or a pokemon character.

Here's some choices to make you feel better:
1. Go get yourself some beachball sized man nuts and get a sense of humor.

2. Go to Claire's boutique- get your earrings. Tell the school you need to wear them for religious reasons or because you identify as a girl.

3. Correct my posts for grammar, spelling and punctuation.

4. Stick with insta gram and snap chat until you are a little bit older.

LMFAO - learn to take a joke kid.

The kid is with the ap's, the teachers told us we were safe and explained the situation. Obviously I can not speak for everyone, maybe I should have been more clear. I am just telling everybody, most kids I have talked to are not worried and believe it to be an empty threat.

A "self entitled little sissy"? I understand you calling me a school shooter was a joke, I'm just asking you to remove it, because out of context, it does not look good. I think it's particularly funny actually, but not everyone will see it that way if they don't understand why you're saying what you said.

Karras --- 8 years ago -

For you, I will. No problem.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

Wow.

King Salvia --- 8 years ago -

restrict their freedom of speech
You do not have free speech on these message boards. Kingwood underground rules do not allow for personal attacking of others. I got banned for it, and don't intend to do it again, I'll make a post later about it. I do not think you should be banned I think your post could be taken the wrong way out of context, along with it being a personal attack so it should be taken down.

KINGWOOD, Texas - A Kingwood High School student was suspended from school Friday after being accused of making threats against the school, Humble ISD officials said.

The school's pep rally has been canceled Friday due to the threats. Parents were notified of incident.

The district said the threats, made through social media or text messages were rumors.

Another student is facing disciplinary actions after a similar but unrelated incident, officials said.

No arrests have been made.

Officials are investigating the rumors.

The school's principal released the following statement:

?You may be aware of rumors spread on social media regarding a threat of violence at KHS. I want to assure you that these are just rumors. School authorities, police and prosecutors investigated. There is no evidence of a credible threat.

?The rumors stemmed from a comment a student made about violence at a pep rally. Later in the week, a second student made a similar but unrelated comment. All rumors are being investigated. Students involved were identified and face school discipline.

?Because we were investigating, we made the decision to postpone today?s pep rally to later in the school year. However, as we confirmed, there was no evidence of a threat, (and) all other activities and classes continued as normal.

?We encourage any student who has information involving rumors to tell school staff immediately. We encourage parents who monitor their child?s social media to do the same. Thank you for your support.?

might want to trim that up a little lol

MadGirl --- 8 years ago -

My son is a freshman at KHS and told me about this on the way to school this morning. He said this boy had said something to another student about shooting up the school and that other student reported it to teachers. According to my son, the boy who made the threats was put in ISS (in school suspension. I told him it was probably just a rumor and if they school thought there was a serious threat, they would send home an email to parents. Now I feel stupid and not real sure about the school's administrators. I'm glad they took action, but I feel they should have let parents know what was going on.

Rubicon --- 8 years ago -

I know we live in Texas but when I was in HS here a friend of mine brought a gun to school and was expelled.

Just making this to be transparent and tell you guys what we were told in class, to paraphrase "You guys are safe, the kid is with the administrators and officers. There has been increased security today due to the threats made" we should refrain from speculating and rumor spreading, this is prettt serious and we shouldn't give this kid the attention he clearly wants by talking about this constantly. Thanks.

So you start an ADDITIONAL thread about it on KU when there is this one.
