*puts hand down*

I did, however, go to the HEB in my own neighborhood. Usually shopping at 5:00 on a Friday is a nightmare. But this past Friday, I breezed in and out.

Now I know why! Kingwoodians can go back to Kingwood! Everyone's thrilled!

I bet the reopening had much fanfare, about which we'll read in the Observer next week. Did you go?

RayofHope --- 4 years ago -

I drove by, but there were too many people.

Can you see my hand? It's raised! I was about 4:00, though- still packed, but not bedlam-

Hand raised! It was no worse than shopping there on any given Saturday. Finding a parking space was far worse than shopping inside.
HEB employees were all over the store and every check-out was open. Needless to say it was an adventure. LOL

Me too!! I got bean sprouts!! Lol! You cannot find those anywhere anymore. It was like a carnival. I expected it and just went with the flow!

Every check stand was open and there was little to no waiting. They did a good job. I go to both Kroger and HEB. But HEB has the best meat and produce.

I worked there on Friday night. Everybody was in great spirits and glad to have their store back!! Especially the employees!

Win-win for everyone!

I braved the crowds yesterday. It was PACKED but all registers were open so at least that part went quick. The aisles were another story; bumper car nightmare.

Did find something new, though. Marinated pork "fajita" that's coarsely ground (think small chunks, not hamburger texture) used to make tacos al pastor. Pan fried it with chopped onion and cilantro and made some fresh guacamole and tortillas. Man it was AWESOME!!

I still don't want to go. I am THAT hateful of crowds armed with shopping carts!
