The NEW (Porter / near Kingwood) Kroger probably DID hit $5M Sales, with Gasoline, Food, Halloween, Tables & Chairs....WHOW what a great success...

That's cool for them. I went opening weekend, used some coupons but I don't think I'll be going back. Is it just me but when I go shopping for groceries, I don't need to also see home furnishing. I'll just stick to my HEB.

And?

AngieKaye --- 11 years ago -

No different then shopping at target. I like the new store. Big bright and has a huge variety. Will go there occasionally but we live too close to the one on wlh

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

was there any handicapped parking left?

AFWife --- 11 years ago -

Gas prices are too high there, even if you get up to 20 cents off. Love the store though & it is 1 mile from my house. I quit going to HEB earlier this year because I work until later (not going to fight traffic to get to one) and don't like the small variety at the KW store.

LOVE the new Kroger, huge selection and great service with fast check out.

tlm2315 --- 11 years ago -

I went last week. There were a few pros like a large selection and open concept. I think we might use it on occasion but will probably stick to HEB.

Snake Plissken --- 11 years ago -

Anyone know if they have fresh shrimp?

I haven't been yet but I'm liking the old Kroger on Northpark even better since it's not nearly as crowded.

sweetscreaminmonkey --- 11 years ago -

went last sat night.. it is nice but too big for me.. i use the one in porter or the one in the woodlands before i head home from work.

TinktheSprite --- 11 years ago -

Yay! Y'all keep shopping there and keep the KW stores empty for me, please!

DVaz --- 11 years ago -

Isn't a huge HEB being built on the northern side of Northpark Drive next to St. Marthas Catholic Church?

LoveMyDoggies --- 11 years ago -

How are the organic selections at the new Kroger?

whatchamacallit --- 11 years ago -

I like the new Kroger just fine but can't see them keeping all that space for furniture. I would bet they end up expanding the grocery and shrinking the furniture areas.

Just seems weird to buy furniture along with my produce, lol. Is that snobbish?

Some people do that at Wal Mart and Target all the time. I can not see it either. When I shop Target or Wal Mart I do not buy food. It just does not seem right. So, I don't think I will be buying furniture at Kroger. I hope they expand their food selections and get rid of the furniture.

I must say that I do like the feel of the new Kroger and I will shop there on week days when I am not in a hurry.
