I have to say, I am not impressed so far...rather boring...and not much talent. 

I still love that show.

I like Harry Conick Jr. though. He is brutally honest and not in a "dawg" way. I think it might be alright. 

It is a 1,000 times better than last season! I couldn't stand watching those 2 hens on the judge's table. They were awful. I do like Harry Conick Jr. 

I'm watching now and Jesse is the first one on tonight. 

Yes, I like her, she's different and good. I love her story. Thanks to her neighbor, she is on American Idol. Very cool. So far, the show is much better tonight than it was last night. 

the judges really liked her, too- I'm so glad the early shows aren't solidly crappy singers... that was so boring-

when idol first came on years ago i was glued to the t.v.
now i only watch the auditions. they make for a good laugh.

The chubby country boy sounds like he's got poop in his mouth, and the girl with braces sounds like she's mumbling.

The Voice seems to have much better talent. 

Seeing how much talent they had to eliminate, I am not impressed with the contestants this year. There seemed to be a lot of good talent to choose from. Either they have a long way to go to improve or they chose the wrong contestants for the wrong reasons? 

The Voice blows them out of the water, IMO- 

The only thing that you can compare AI and The Voice to is the contestants' talent. They have totally different venues of competition. One it looking for the "Total Package". The other is judged mainly by their voices only.

I agree with JAMS. MK is boring. We are watching The Voice for the first time and I really like it. 

Yeah, I think Idol needs to pack it in. They just aren't good anymore. They keep trying to change judges around in hopes of reviving the show, but the talent gets worse and worse every year. The Voice is really good. Love the judges and the talent.

I had missed several weeks of the show since the auditions and came upon this show. I was shocked to see how bad the talent chosen was. Seems they were not performing up to par. It doesn't make the show look bad, only the judges look bad in whom they chose to compete.

Last night the judges did answer to the criticisms that they were being too harsh to the contestants. I think they did a good job in answering. They stated that none of the singers were up to par this week to what they have already seen. That they weren't being harsh, only that they are not going to candy coat their greatness because they already know their ability.

The contestants are just lucky there is only one elimination each week or several of them would/should have left the show after their poor performance! Now we get to see them grow into the singers they are expected to be. 

I can't believe anyone still watches. They haven't had any real talent since the second or third season. 

I don't know about that, Sunshine. I love Carrie Underwood and Phil Phillips. OH and that rock star that was eliminated at the end, he has his own band? It's one name, his last name. I think of his name right now.

OK, I'll take it to season 5 so we get Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry in, but that's where I draw my line on actual talent coming from that show.
