Dressy during the week nights or casual?

*Annie* --- 11 years ago -

Nicer casual

ladybeachbum --- 11 years ago -

Thanks, Annie. I called and they said that anything is fine even jeans but I didn't want to do that. I think they fear we won't go if we have to get dressed up and normally they would be right about us but this time doing a little special thing. Now, what to wear?

RedMulch --- 11 years ago -

You will love it there LBB...Food is good, atmosphere is good. price to value ratio is on the high end.

Sweet Cherub --- 11 years ago -

We have never been. Going Saturday for my B-day. Really looking forward to it. Have fun Ladybeachbum. :)

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 11 years ago -

have fun, lbb! (and happy b-day!)

Cajunmom --- 11 years ago -

Husband wears jeans and a nice shirt. It's not real fancy dress up at all.

freebyrdll --- 11 years ago -

The seared scallops atop the risotto is worth every penny!

ladybeachbum --- 11 years ago -

Thanks, all. I'll let you know what we think. Cajunmom, my son is now thinking it might be alright to go. He sees no value in getting dressed up to eat with his mom!

reh6110 --- 11 years ago -

I usually wear a casual dress or jeans and a nice shirt regardless of the time/day.

TinktheSprite --- 11 years ago -

We walked in in jeans and casual shirts. I was taken aback by their low lights, white table cloths, crystal, and silverware, everywhere but they assured us we were welcomed. Dinner was wonderful.

Grammybob1 --- 11 years ago -

A family came in in cutoffs Sunday and they seated them with no problem.

ladybeachbum --- 11 years ago -

Their website shows guest in jeans! If you are going join their club for $15 off $50 evening and $10 off $40 at lunch. The menu and facebook looks delish!

The crabcakes are literally the best crabcakes I've ever had. If that's your thing, GET THEM.

I had a steak and, while it was good, it wasn't really much better than a steak I could get at Texas Roadhouse for half the price.

Service was probably the best service I've had anywhere in Kingwood, though.

I love crabcakes - that right there makes me want to give them a try.

Tks!

Smart casual. Although, one night we saw them ask a group to leave. The man was dressed in shorts, flip flops and a tank shirt. Also what he considered "Texas" semi-formal....a baseball cap, worn backwards. The women were not dressed well either.

Food is great, atmosphere nice and the service great. It has improved since they first opened and now have a bartender that knows what he is doing.

We went for lunch and had the burger. It was awesome! Great service, great atmosphere, great food! Great onion rings! Just be sure to specify how you want your burger because they automatically cook them medium and that is not done enough for me.

Go there a lot to meet friends for happy hour - 4:30 to 6:30. $5 wine and well drinks & half off small plate appetizers. Last Wednesday we (total of 4) each picked out one appetizer each which we shared and then drinks. 2 peeps only had one and 2 peeps had 2 drinks. The bill was split and it was $9 and some change each. Excellent deal. We joined the club and earn points toward food. One girl must go a lot as she has $40 credit on food already built up!

Sounds Awesome

We went for lunch the other day and were very pleasantly surprised! The food was incredible. I had the Union burger, my husband had the mahi mahi sandwich, and one of the kids had the steak sandwich. We also had soup, which was very good as well. Very good food, excellent service. We will make this a regular place for us. :)

The way it's decorated, I'd dress nice but not fancy. As if you were going to to a nice restaurant. It's not Chili's.

A food tip: I would skip the steaks, they're just not that good. I ate it, but wouldn't order it again. Go for the pork chop (yum) or seafood items. We haven't tried the Union burger yet, but it's on our "to-do" list.

The truffle Mac n cheese is to die for.

FANCY PANTS --- 11 years ago -

We joined the club

Tell me about the club!!!

*Annie* --- 11 years ago -

My first meal there was a filet mignon and I scarfed it all down. It was one of the best steaks I have eaten.

ladybeachbum --- 11 years ago -

We delayed going until this week so dh could go. I am sure one of us will check out the filet mignon. I hope it lives up to the expectations we are building! I'm still a die hard Carrabba's fan!

If I remember correctly...join the club for $20 or $25. Get a plastic card. Joining gives you 200 points good for $20 credit towards food only (not alcohol). Each dollar spent (whether food or alcohol) earns a point. Each 200 points is good for $20 credit. However if you save them up 1000 points is good for either $120 or $125 credit instead of just $100. Hope that explains it!
