OK I just have to vent a little. I stopped by Ulta this afternoon and as I parked I saw a little dog sitting in the passenger seat of the car next to me. I was a bit shocked to see this because it has been all over the news about kids and pets being left in hot cars and how quickly they can die. I went into the store and told one of the clerks about it. She said she was going to try to locate the owner of the car. I was kind of hovering around her to see if she could find the owner. A couple of the stylists came up front to see what they could do. They finally found the owner because the stylist was talking out loud about the little dog in the car and I guess the owner acknowledged him and let him know she owned the dog. She just went about her business shopping and it had been about 15 minutes since I went in to the store. I was just about to call animal control and then I saw her car pulling away. I was so pissed off. Who knows how long that dog was in the car. I think she should have been forced to sit in the hot car and see how long she could take it!!!! This really hits home with me as I have a friend whose child died in car in April a few years ago.

I am so sorry to hear about your friends daughter...I really commend and respect you for doing the right thing about the dog. good for you. :-)

When in doubt...call the authorities.
I have, even if the idiot left before the police arrived. Keeping and eye out for that Black UV!

I guess a word to the wise would be to make sure you get a complete description and tag number for the police.

I had the same thing happen to me in atascocita last week. Poor little dog in a white SUV. I ended up calling 911

Why would you ever do this! Lucky for them no one smashed the window out!

Identity Crisis --- 10 years ago -

I would have smashed the window. These idiots should be shot!

The weatherman said the "feels like" today was one of the hottest of the summer, in Kingwood the map showed it to be 106F this afternoon. Even now the "feels like" is 102F. She should be arrested and charged with cruelty.

I've made a scene in Randalls, before- I made the manager announce it on the loudspeaker- I had a fight with him in the parking lot, until his wife told him I was right- truly, I didn't give a rat's azz if he didn't like it-

Wonder if 911 is the correct place to call when you see this?

a889324uu --- 10 years ago -

I thought this would be about the cop who left his K9 partner in the car and found the dog dead the next morning.

Aren't K9s considered officers? Wonder if the scumbag human will be prosecuted instead of his current "reassigned" status.

Dotti --- 10 years ago -

K9 cops are always supposed to leave their vehicles running.

A few years back a Baytown K9 police officer came to Kingwood with his blood hound to talk to my DD's girl scout troop.

He explained where they get the dogs, how they train them, what they are trained for etc.

He also told us when he goes into the station, he leaves the dog in the car with the air on. His patrol car had no back seat, was fully carpeted and the dog had extra fans just to make sure it didn't get to hot.

No sane person would go near a K9 patrol car with a dog in it. Have you ever gone near one and seen how the dog flips out. When I worked at a hospital in NJ the cops would come in the middle of the night to get coffee and if the one guy took the dog out of the car for a potty break or to get him a drink he was friendly. The second he put him back in the car you couldn't go near the car. Spit would be flying if you went near the window.

If you see a dog locked in a car, take a pic of the dog in the car, the license plate of the car, and call 911. Forget trying to find the owner. If they left the dog that time, they will do it again. At least the police can charge them with animal cruelty and maybe they'll think twice about leaving the dog next time b

I didn't know who to call but I was desperate and mad. Two police cars came out...I wasnt impressed with their attitude but they did make the effort to go in the stores and they got her name off the license plates. I left but watched for awhile..she finally came out. The poor dog was in the car for over 1 hour before she finally being rescued. I was livid.

I would have done like I have in the past. This MORON would have a broken window to replace. Dipsh*t.

Is this number better or faster to call than 911 when we see an animal violation?
