My DD came home today stating that her economics teacher was removed from class during 5th period. Evidently he had sent some sexual messages to and about a few of his students on twitter, he also went on a rant threatening a student a student as well. So worried that this man had been teaching our children!

It's not too hard to figure out his name ... It's the only teacher listed for teaching the subject mentioned. My child came home with basically the same story the OP heard.

There was an economics teacher my daughter had last year, and his name isn't on the website, so, I wasn't sure if it was him or not. Thought maybe they removed his name after this happened.

Thanks for somewhat answering my question. Glad it wasn't the teacher my daughter had, he is a good guy. I liked him. 

When this stuff happens, doesn't the school typically notify the parents? 

They are supposed to. 

He also got a DWI in 2012.

I didn't know that you could still teach if you got a DWI. I always thought that was grounds for dismissal. I guess not.

Is this the same one that was just on the news? I think they said it was a social studies teacher that sent inappropriate pictures to a student? Did anyone else hear it, it was channel 2. 

HUMBLE, Texas - KPRC

A male social studies teacher at Kingwood High School is on leave after allegations that he sent inappropriate photos to three female students, according to the Humble Independent School District.

The district said it acted immediately once the allegations came to their attention on April 24 and that an investigation is ongoing.

A statement from the high school read, in part: "At this point, we have personally contacted parents of all students alleged to have received these messages. The teacher's classes are being covered by a guest teacher.

"Humble ISD Police continues its investigation and will share results with the Harris County District Attorney's Office. The district works with law enforcement for the safety and well-being of all students."

The district said the male teacher has been employed at Kingwood High School as a social studies teacher since 2009.
