Sorry, I can't find the original thread.

We went today. OH my! Oh my! BEST BBQ EVER! We met the owner, Carl. Tell him it's your first time and he'll give you some fresh pork cracklins that are pretty darn amazing as fresh as they are...still cracklin' when they were brought to the table.

Place your order, choose you sides, dress your spud, get your drink, chips or other, and pay at the end of the counter line. Plenty of seating a long picnic tables or small tables around the perimeter.

He tells the story of why his brisket is so tender. His mom and grandma didn't have any teeth. And when they had a craving for BBQ, they would call Carl because they knew Carl could cook a brisket tender enough for them to eat it!

Beautiful thick pieces of hot brisket with the visible smoke rings, just the right amount of fat and tender, tender, tender. Ham had a tasty maple brown sugar. Lots of sides to choose from! Big Baked Potatoes. Awesome BBQ sauces both spicy and mild on the table so you can add it to your liking. So good!

BEST meal I have had all week! You NEED to go, We will be back!

If you come across 494 on Ford Rd, and the gate to the Mosque on the left is open, you can get there through the Mosque parking lot. If not, you will have to get on the Feeder Rd. south of Ford Rd. Turn right when you see the Valero, before you get to the Hotel and Vet on the corner of Ford Rd. There is a little strip center to the right of Valero. It's the last building. You won't be sorry.

We have eaten there every Friday evening since they opened ans start craving it again by Wednesday. The pork ribs are fall off the bone tender and chicken is so moist and juicy! DH and I are addicted.

It's all about the sauce for me. I loved the BBQ sauce!

They have some dang good BBQ! The first trip was for a loaded baked potato and it was HUGE! I made 2 meals out of it.

The second trip was for a pulled pork BBQ sandwich and that too, was so big I could barely eat it all.

I'm not usually a fan of sauce since I prefer the taste of the smokey meat but their spicy BBQ sauce is sooo good!

And they have good ice, like Sonic! And Root Beer!!

Great bbq doesn't need sauce.

I need to try Skeros but will have Kruez's and Blacks this weekend.

I didn't know there was a Skero's BBQ. I will try it, I love good BBQ. Its on Ford Rd?

TinktheSprite --- 6 years ago -

It's actually on the North Bound 59 Feeder Road just before Ford Rd, adjacent to Valero.

We tried Skero's and were very disappointed. The ribs were almost all fat, the chicken was dry and both tasted like charcoal starter fluid but the fried okra was great. The sausage was good but they didn't really have anything to do with that, it's Chapple Hill. They only have one person taking the orders and he was very slow. There were maybe 4 people in front of us and it took him about 25 minutes to get to us. Spring Creek is superior to Skero's.

We love Rudy's and drive often to the one in Spring next to Splash town. Jump on the Grand Parkway and you are there in no time! Going this week!

Rudy's

We love Rudy's but only go there when we go to Schlitter Baun in New Braunfels. We will try the one in Spring. Thanks, Texas Lady.

We ate at Skero's again yesterday. Can't. Stay. Away. They (George and Carl) are soooooo nice there! Lots of laughs.

When I was a kid, I spent more time at the Skero house than my own. Great family!

We tried Skero's and were very disappointed.

I was underwhelmed too.

Skero's is so convenient for us when we are coming home by way of Ford Road and Mills Branch. We stop frequently after running errands. The stuffed potatoes are our favorite but the sliced beef or chipped beef sandwiches are delicious too. Kingwood has been needing a good BBQ place and this is it for us.

I'm pretty sure Skero's has a delicious pulled pork sandwich with my name on it today. Goin' to pick it up some time this afternoon.
