Are you licensed and bonded to enter someone's home?

I would never hire someone to enter my home without a background check and they need to be insured. Anyone can start a free website and call themselves a pet sitter. But if you are certified with a license and bonded in case anything goes wrong or something is stolen then yes I would hire them.

You don't mention that on your free website.
I am glad you do have a website though. Even if you made it for free. I look for people who pay for there advertising because is makes them a "true business" ask to see their state license. I also would not hire someone who just has a Facebook page. Anyone can make a Facebook page and call themselves a pet sitter.

If you are going to hire a sitter be smart and get references and make sure they are insured. I am licensed and bonded but I do not pet sit at this time. I'm way to busy with training so this is just advice.

Thank you for the advice. My website is not free however. That is an option through that website builder. They have other packages that one must pay for which I have. Also, independently I'm not insured or bonded. I can be booked through rover.com or dogvacay.com and they are insured and bonded and have also done a criminal background check on me which I passed. I'm a stay at home mom with a bachelors degree in criminal justice. I stopped working in the professional world so I could raise my children. I adore animals, am not a criminal, and am trustworthy and reliable. Thank you again for your advice.

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

I'm not getting onto you. Really I'm not. I'm just saying as a professional you should be licensed and bonded for YOUR sake. So no one can come after you if they claim something is wrong or stolen. It's more for your benefit.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

Oh my, so many experts, so little time....lol.

Everyone taking notes? I know I'm not. Lol

a282603uu --- 8 years ago -

I do have references upon request.

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

I wrote you a private message. I have clients who I would love to refer to you, may I? If you have business cards with your information on them I could meet up and get some from you to hand out to my clients.

And SyFy, no one cares that you don't. You don't matter to me or my business. ..... I guess I'm supposed to end that like everyone else does who makes an insult and then says LOL

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

A282, my comments were not directed at you. This dog training expert is a troll, last name was inked and fabulous. We just laugh a lot here about it. But don't let her rattle you. :)

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

It was inked and pierced not inked and fabulous. And I think we all know your comments were directed at me. She's not rattled by me in the least. If you don't have anything constructive to say then butt out. Oh wait, are you going to use your "super moderator powers" to ice me now? You make things too personal.

TMarsh, knows in my message that I would like to refer clients to her and even add her info to my website. Animal lovers who actually work in the field is a small community and we help each other out when we can. She says she has a bachelors in criminal justice so I trust her intelligence and common sense.

OH you are soooo mature! Good fer you!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I do have business cards and flyers. I would greatly appreciate any referrals you could send my way. I will do the same for you in your training efforts. I'm not offended at all and totally understand you weren't being rude. No worries 😊

gunsnroses --- 8 years ago -

to Calvarydogtrainer. On the same token anyone can call themselves a dog trainer. Do you go to competitions to "walk the walk" so to speak. Your tattoo of the pit was interesting as mist serious working dog trainers are not impressed with pits. They work the real working dogs: German shepherd dogs, Doberman, Rottweilers. There is a big difference in dog trainers..

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

Um, that is not a pit. It's a boxer/bulldog and a black lab. I do not do competitions anymore. Mostly I train service dogs. The black lab is mine for my diabetes. Would you like to know how he is trained for my diabetes? If you look at my website you would know what I do. I went to school to become a vet technician, groomer and a professional trainer. I spent 6 years in school to become these things. I have a license and I am bonded/insured and I have several references. I've been training dogs for over 20 years. So coming at me with attitude doesn't phase me one bit. If anyone is interested I can give more information. The tattoo of my Marvel, boxer/bulldog that passed away had cancer. We did everything we could to save him, even chemotherapy. But in the end it's Quality of life not quantity of years. Finally I had to put him down it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I did have him cremated and he is in an urn that I have placed on a bookcase next to his picture.

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

Btw, have you ever loved a pet so much that you have them tattooed on your body in remembrance of them? Have you ever loved a pet so much that you just didn't bury them in your backyard but you paid to have them cremated and have their ashes with you in remembrance of them?

To gunsnroses, you obviously do not know Dog breeds by looking at their face.

I feel like I have to prove myself because some people on here think I'm just a troll who makes several IDs and lies. So here is proof of my statement above. So tell me gunsnroses....does he look like a pit? NO!! Learn your breeds.

a282603uu --- 8 years ago -

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was so adorable. I can't believe this thread has turned so ugly. Im just offering pet sitting services in Kingwood. I had no idea it would turn into this.

www.CalvaryDogTraining.com?

I am confused. Is your business local or in El Paso?

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

I thought the business was in Montana?

Leila --- 8 years ago -

I thought the business was in Montana??

Maybe you are right. I thought it was local since it was on the neighborhood forum so I referred someone but they said when they googled it something came up about El Paso. But Montana is even further away for her, haha.

JustWatching --- 8 years ago -

No, if you google "Tiff's Furry Friends Pet Sitting" you will find she is in Kingwood.

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

No, Justwatching we're talking about CalvaryDogTraining.com

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

The "dog trainer" is a troll. This person often uses real websites put up by others and claims to be them.
Warning to the wise.

And this business is in Wisconsin so a bit far for KW referrals. Lol

a282603uu --- 8 years ago -

Where do you live and where is your business located...calvarydogtraining?

Have you given up on our "dog trainer " yet Tiff??

a282603uu --- 8 years ago -

You know I think I have 😉

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

I just logged back in and saw your comments. What do you do when a moderator is nothing but a drama filled trouble maker? I don't owe you any explanation SyFi. But Tiff I sent you a private message and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. I will be at pets at the park. Why would I buy a booth for anyone and everyone to stop by if I didn't live in Kingwood? Yes we will be moving once again to Wisconsin not Montana. Plus how can you have a conversation with a moderator if she has you hosed??

SolongKU4ever --- 8 years ago -

I must say that the owner of Tiff's Furry Friends Pet Sitting is such a kind person and a very enjoyable woman to speak with. I would definitely trust her with my pets. Very mature, knows what she is doing and a very sweet animal lover. Upon speaking to her one on one I would refer my personal clients to her at any time.

Thank you Tiff!!
