Hi All, I just want to ask if anyone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative meds? I have read many articles about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, bone injuries, eating disorder/anorexia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. Like this article about a marijuana strain called Morning Glory from:http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/morning-glory/ . Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks

I hear wonderful stories how medical MJ works for people using different "blends' if you will. Families have moved out of Texas to obtain MJ where it is legal. Like you, I know nothing about the details only that it works for some. Let's hope it gets legalized to help those that suffer. Today's marijuana is not like the pot of the 60's. It is more potent and can be specialized to the need.

Yea I use it all the time. I buy 1/2 oz a month to get me through pain.

in KW after all these years --- 275 days ago -

Any word on it becoming legal as far as medical? I have incurable bone cancer and its crazy that I cannot get it legally for pain .

TinktheSprite --- 274 days ago -

Sorry you are suffering in KW after all these years. DH has bone cancer, condrosarcoma that won't react to chemo or radiation. It has to be cut out every time it rears its ugly head. We are familiar with the pain you suffer. Our local PCP thinks medical MJ will become legal by next year. Just her opinion of course, but it gives us hope.

Have you seen what shows up every 2 years in Austin ? NFW these people legalize. We still can't even buy beer on Sunday before noon. Archaic puritan circle je#k meet up and a joke for a Governor.

What is NFW? National French Week? National Fishing Week? Not Feeling Well??

I understand old conservative ideas from Conservative Texas is the way of it if you live here with the amended Blue Law. Legalizing pot may never happen. But I would like to believe the medical community might have our back on supporting Medical Marijuana. I know 3 of DH's doctors that support it. They say he is the Perfect Candidate for it and a great alternative to opiate use.

I think it depends on the person and the specific strain of marijuana. It almost always helps with mood and appetite unless it gives you panic attacks.

I do NOT agree with legalizing marijuana. If you walk on the beaches in California, they have a "Just Walk In" sign guarentees they will make it "legal" for a number of things...lack of sleep, blood pressure, feeling tired, etc.....with that said, the entire population would "qualify" for "medical marijuana" in any area of their life. And you know what that means... Every other driver will be out there STONED bc he "officially" has "something" medical that he's suffering from. I'm sorry for those that really DO have something that marijuana might be able to help with, but you KNOW it will get out of hand. I fear it's just another "thing" that will add to making our world even more "unsafe". Everyone will want to jump on the bandwagaon and ruin what might be good for a select group.

Sort of like opiate use? You should see the hoops we have to jump through to get oxicodon for my Dh's cancer pain. It's because of back aches and knee pain patients who have become addicted that we have so much trouble getting it for him.

Edgar Po Wong --- 248 days ago -

I use it for my cackeracts.

It?s legal in California...do your homework.

jackass, I KNOW it's legal in CA. YOU MISSED the whole point! The point was that ANYONE can and will "qualify" for ANY reason. Those ppl will ruin it for others that could benefit from it.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 246 days ago -

My ex used it for chronic pain and anxiety, and it worked very well- I assume he still does- a47, anyone can buy alcohol, too- there will always be people who abuse the laws- they smoke m.j. now- it makes no sense to keep it illegal-

I know someone who uses the oil and they swear by it. Knuckle dragging Tejas needs to leave the dark ages already.

You missed the point. You don?t have to qualify for anything in California, it?s legalized for recreational use. 21 and over.
