As a kid, what is your most memorable resent?
Mine was an Erector Saet.

I got a cherry red bike. The kind with the banana seat, sissy bar, small front wheel and big back wheel, gear shift in front of the seat on the bar. Even had a headlight. Had flames painted on the chain guard LOL

It was the dragster of bikes in the early-mid 70's! I could ride a wheelie down the entire block HAHAHA!

Like the little blue pills? Did it help?
You ruin every thread

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 3 years ago -

Oh, look! Judy's comment was removed!

I got a doll my dad named Cockeyed Sue because her left eye went in the wrong direction. She was my favorite doll ever.

The miserable people like to spread misery. The bitterness is evident.

THe more we respond to the thread ruiners the more fuel it gives them. Even making notes about their postings being removed gives them the satisfaction of having been noticed. Ignore and they'll go away.

When I was little I got a parakeet from Santa. I named him Peppermint and I loved that bird so much. I still, to this day, have no idea how my parents managed to conceal a live animal from me until Christmas morning.

I can't remember how old exactly I was, but I think 1st grade. But some older kids at school were saying they wanted money from Santa. Well I had never gotten money from him but I decided I was not opposed to the idea LOL. So I kept asking my parents if Santa gave money. My Mom said no, my Dad said yes. My Mom said my Dad was wrong. Lol lol lol

That year I got a purple purse with a pony on it and there was money in it!! $20. I felt Rich and so fashionably forward. Santa is awesome.

Good memory, saggy

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 3 years ago -

I hope you said that in fun, because this is your thread, and it's a good one!

sdanielmcev --- 3 years ago -

All in good fun. It's why I started it.

sdanielmcev --- 3 years ago -

Geez, 2 good threads. Looks like I'm on a roll.

TinktheSprite --- 3 years ago -

I remember I got a yellow 3 piece pant suit. I was so stoked! Mom made all our clothes. Or she would give us money to make our own clothes which we did often. To get something store-bought was really rare.

Yes! Santa is awesome. I heard a rumor Santa is bringing everyone Nerf guns for Christmas. It will be awesome Christmas Chaos!

Cool, tink! Sewing is a lost art. I remember my sister made her own wedding dress.

A nerf bazooka? My nephew who seems to have them all doesn't have that!

sheddy --- 3 years ago -

When I was in the fourth grade, the kids down the street got the new bikes with the banana seats and the high handle bars. My brother and I were so jealous. The next day Santa brought us those new bikes and we each got s BB gun. 53 years later I still remember his had the pretty stained handle and mine was painted. I’m sure he ended up wearing them both out. My mother got a new Singer sewing machine that had all the built in stitches. Top of the line at the time. I helped wear that out!! Lol

Thanks sheddy!

Tie between a show horse and a red boombox. I loved that boombox!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 3 years ago -

Yeah- I had a hard time choosing between my cockeyed doll and the Rolls Royce, too!

TinktheSprite --- 3 years ago -

I got my first set of Hot Rollers for my hair when I was 15. I think I curled my hair 10 times that day!

Sewing is a lost art because it costs so much. It's become a hobby more than a necessity. It was economical to make your own clothes. Now its actually cheaper to buy them by the time you add up the cost of fabric, the pattern, zippers and buttons elastic, binding, etc., plus other notions, a blouse could cost you $70 to make! I haven't sewn clothing in years though I still own my first sewing machine.

My sister too! And, she had curly hair.

Sounds like sour grapes, joey- didn't you get any Christmas presents? I'm sorry that happened. Don't take it out on everyone, though-

sdanielmcev --- 3 years ago -

It's all joey has anymore. His hate warms his soul.

sdanielmcev --- 3 years ago -

And Merry Christmas to you, Joey.
