Pastor William Irwin Recently returned from Africa and had lots to share. Missionary Work in Africa

Colonialism. Gross.

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

Proselytizing isn't the same as conquering and colonization. I don't think these people have any intention of moving to Africa. There's no doubt people in parts of Africa could use a WHOLE lot of help. If they want to hand out some bibles while they help a village get running water, more power to them.

Colonialism. Gross.

You live in a country founded by colonialism.

Haters gonna hate, even when good things happen.

Any opportunity to take a pot shot-

I spent two years coming and going to Cameroon and EG. I've been part of and seen first hand the value of American companies as well as missionaries add significant value in improving the health and life of people in those areas.

The American companies provided mosquito control programs (malaria), clean water programs, entry level jobs and training, power generation and distribution and sewage treatment; all for free to the people. The missionaries started reading programs and schools.

That's the evil colonialism in action saving and improving their lives.

there’s always an ulterior motive

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

Yeah, the ulterior motive is to help and save souls- what conniving people those missionaries are.

Can you imagine anything more horrible than introducing Christianity to people while at the same time improving their quality of life?

Among other things Pastor William is opening a clinic. There are many missionaries doing good things in the world including spreading their faith (Which is not colonies).

No, I can’t.

Yes, and it was gross.

Yeah, the ulterior motive is to help and save souls- what conniving people those missionaries are.

Save souls? Those of European descent sure are arrogant to believe that everyone needs their "souls" saved.
Those same colonizers who believe their religion is the only one that matters also live in fear of Islam doing the same to them, for example.

The very definition of colonization is to establish control over an indigenous people, and to appropriate land for their own use.

It's disgusting and responsible for wiping out entire groups of human beings.

Nope. I can't.

So, you'd rather live in a mud hut, eating mud?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

People there need the basics to survive- you really think Christianity is so bad, they're better off without food and water? Schools? They aren't forcing anyone to convert, you know-

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

BTW, Africans are mostly Muslim- do you think it's a superior religion to Christianity?
