I've gone to European Wax center in the past and had great service - I was excited to see them open locally in Atascocita - When I stopped in last week to see if they had opened they said they open 8/24 and till the 28th all services were Free! They never told me it was for training!!! So I made an appt for today the 28th - Vanessa did my bikini wax - it was the most horrible thing I've ever experienced - I'd rather go through child birth again! She started off ok - then the wax went all over the place and she tore off more than hair, she couldn't do the wax herself, she kept asking what she should do next to the 'trainer' who walked in my room after she started - when I left I was I was in so much pain I kept feeling like I was going to vomit - and I was white as a ghost - I couldn't go to work.

I called to talk to a manager/supervisor - Brittany came on the line and I explained how bad the wax was and how I was in such excruciating pain all day - I mean I broke down in tears trying to talk to her - and all she could say was "well it was a free service and that's how they do their corporate training." First - I was never told it was a training/ginny pig service - I told her it was such a bad wax that there is no way Vanessa could be license. It was like her first wax ever - and I was calling to let you know she needs MORE training - tomorrow everyone will have to PAY to be torn up! She had no sympathy - no intentions of talking to Vanessa or giving her the training she needs! So Just don't say you were warned! Corporate training...PATHETIC!!! Now I'm worried about infection with my skin torn off - and taking pain meds.

Ok....... So what's the punch line????????

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

They never told me it was for training!!!

I CAN NOT believe that. They have to tell people...are you trollin' us?? Cuz if somebody did that I'm thinking a law suit could possibly be filed, which kind of defeats the whole purpose of being in business...

This is why you have to be careful who you turn your who-ha over to, lol.

SuperFantastic --- 5 years ago -

Wax on, wax off

freebyrdII --- 5 years ago -

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

gymchick --- 5 years ago -

I'm serious - didn't say anything about training or I would have passed! Don't need anyone to practice in that area! LOL!!

PS You guys are funny!!! Thanks for making me laugh!

Tylers Journey --- 5 years ago -

This is just one more reason I do my own waxing

Work in Progress --- 5 years ago -

She tore off skin?

GAH!!!!!!

Oh, I hurt for you!!!!!!

thankfulformyfour --- 5 years ago -

Wax on, wax off

OMGoodness...that was hilarious.

SineadORebellion --- 5 years ago -

Gahhhhhhhhh! OMG that hurts just thinking about it!

I will stick with the razor!

allofus --- 5 years ago -

i went today too.. same person... i tapped out before it was done... so much pain! she was even putting it on wrong... and tearing it like an inch at a time.. i had to bite my hand to keep from screaming at one point.. never had one hurt this badly... and i have never been to a wax place that didnt give you something to cover with before and leave the room while you removed the clothing that you needed to.. so uncomfortable..! what time were you there... and it took her over an hr to do what she did.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

You guys are scarring us for life....lol.

thankfulformyfour --- 5 years ago -

Whatever happened to the good old fashioned razor???????????????????

Semper --- 5 years ago -

An hour?!! My "Hair Stylist" is done in less than 10 minutes.

gymchick --- 5 years ago -

Allofus - I was there at 9 am - and it took an hour! Sorry to hear you went thru same thing!! It was uncomfortable for sure - especially when her trainer walked in the room about 5-10 min after she started and didn't knock - then stood at the end of my feet watching and looking at EVERYTHING - taking notes and telling her what to do next!

I'm just sick that the manager said "It was a free service and corporate training" I was calling to tell her it was the worst experience of my life - and that she needs to be pulled - she doesn't need to be working on people if she has no idea what she's doing!
She said she's licensed and trained! I should have told her to let her wax you, then let me know how you feel after!

Yesterday was the last day of training and she was THAT BAD!! OMG Hope no one went to her on the first day!

So it was a free service - what is she going to say to people who pay for it!!???

deekay --- 5 years ago -

oh my gosh; this is awful - i signed up immediately when i heard they were going to open but for some reason, i hesitated to call them back to schedule my free wax - i didn't want to trust them with waxing anywhere on me and i am glad i didn't go now; thanks for the information!

I use Nair to get the hair out of my butt crack

SleightOfHand --- 5 years ago -

So you are missing a part of your hoo ha? Ouch!

freebyrdII --- 5 years ago -

"I use Nair to get the hair out of my butt crack ..."

Prayers.....

TexasOma --- 5 years ago -

Those who experienced this service should call the State of Texas and file a report. Beauticians are licensed, and I believe they are licensed for the extent of their education --- the state will investigate.

If you sit back and don't do anything, someone else will get the mistreatment you received.

Now that paints a mental picture to last a lifetime! Hahaa

u uic --- 5 years ago -

Ladys a razor and nair work well.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

I watched some youtube vids of waxing...OMG, DO NOT WATCH THESE....it will seer images into your mind you will never forget.

And even the dialogue is horrific...."okay, now, pull your legs up and put your knees to your ears."

Uh huh.

Red Heifer --- 5 years ago -

So this isn't about car detailing, right?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

So this isn't about car detailing, right?

Nope, female detailing in all it's glory. Ha ha

The things stand up comedy are made of..:)

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

Well, I got a coupon in the mail today...FREE FIRST TIME VISITORS WAX (bikini, eye brows, pits) or Brazilian for 21.00, regularly 42.00.

Lemme know if you want the coupon. LOL

ClaireBear83 --- 5 years ago -

This place is definitely a "get what you pay for" type of business. They allocate 15 for a Brazilian....FIFTEEN MINUTES!! That's insane. The employees are required to carry a pager that notifies them when their time is up. So, even if the job is not 100% they are forced to wrap it up! You will never get a throrough wax by going to the European Wax Center. Other places can be expensive so I know why many people are drawn by their cheap prices. I finally found a lady who does an amazing job and is also affordable. Her name is Sheryl and here is her website incase anyone would like to check her out! She local is new, but she's been waxing for years!!! Let's support the lil guy (lady)!! http://www.humbleskinsosmooth.com/

ClaireBear83 --- 5 years ago -

Correction....Her locale is new, but she's been waxing for years! Tell her Clarissa sent you if you go! Hopefully she remembers me! Ha! :-)

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

15 minutes of sheer agony seems a bit stingy alright. lol.

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 5 years ago -

This is why you have to be careful who you turn your who-ha over to, lol.

post of the year

crazypinetrees --- 5 years ago -

Think they do it st the spa at the country club too. Friend of mine was looking and thats where someone said to go.

Think id have to hurt someone if it hurt that bad.

AND CALL CORPORATE....dont call the location. Give them names and dates and see if the response is any different and report back.

Tipsyhic --- 5 years ago -

I bought my candles from there. For some reason they smell like burning hair.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

LOL. Nothing like essence of burning hair.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 5 years ago -

students get very little practice in beauty school- like any other business, you learn the most on the job-practicing on clients, after getting your license, is par for the course-starting with bikini waxing sounds like a really stupid business practice..and not everyone is good at it-this girl should have been practicing on other employees and her friends-or maybe, not waxing at all..

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

starting with bikini waxing sounds like a really stupid business practice..

Why? There's apparantly a huge market for it...

But i bet most women do their own.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 5 years ago -

no, what I meant was that particular part of the body was the most difficult to wax..not the smartest place to learn to wax..it's the most difficult area to keep the skin taut, and the hair is coarser, so more painful to remove..it takes way more expertise-

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 5 years ago -

someone needs to tell this girl she needs to enlist the help of the customer..that way, she can get the skin taut, without touching any personal stuff!!

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 5 years ago -

Oh, I see. Yeah, the fact that they can't practice is SCARY. Well, but if you think about it, who wants to volunteer their who-ha for hair extraction practice. Lulz.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 5 years ago -

you got that right!!
