Finally, legal actions have resulted in a look at the records about what the administration knew about the Bengazi deaths. A new committee will investigate the new revelations. Family members of the four dead have been asking for this a long time.

It is incredible when four Americans die and the administration is more concerned about making sure Obama foreign policy is not tarnished than finding out why the Americans died. There would not be mounting anger if the administration came clean instead of feeling compelled to come up with lies.

Also, it is amazing that a filmmaker is blamed for the deaths of the four Americans, arrested, and detained for a long time.

It is no wonder that some feel we are a society in decline.

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 11 years ago -

For me the only issue is did they lie about knowing it was terrorism so that it wouldn't affect the election.

I don't think the administration was involved in the attack. I think attacks happen and have happened under other presidents. I think they were not prepared and should have been given the fact that it was Sept 11th and the fact that we just had a hand in killing Gaddafi. But I think it was a mistake nothing more.

Can't wait for Gowdy to stand up and point his finger in O's face again and repeat "You sir are a liar"

They need to start by looking into Valerie Jerrett! She is the one actually running the white house and those pens and papers.Rumor has it she is also the one that gave the order 3x's to stand down seeing as the President was MIA

Gowdy for President! I truly love this man. Honest man of his word!!! He promised these families that he would find answers no matter what, and he's doing it. God bless him and God watch over him!

Ender --- 11 years ago -

I hope they get to the bottom of this..

The men who died deserve it.

New committee new investigation...

OK

I agree with this. Another reason I long ago withdrew my support for Obama. And I agree with the outrage over these 4 deaths.

Where was all of the outrage by the conservatives over the 900 +/- false statements the Bush Administration made to justify the Iraq War? You know, that war that resulted in approximately 4,500 American deaths, 500 additional Coalition deaths, and over 110,000 Iraqi deaths? You know, that war that could end up costing tax payers $1.9 trillion dollars. You know, that war that caused an estimated 500,000 ancillary Iraqi deaths. You know, that war that has been blamed for a quadrupling of world wide oil prices in the past 10 years (perhaps the REAL cause of the war???). You know, that war where we left a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions in our wake.

You know? Hello? Is anyone there...Hello???

Yes, I agree. It's a shame people make joke cartoons abou this. People died because of it.

Where was all of the outrage by the conservatives over the 900 +/- false statements the Bush Administration made to justify the Iraq War?

This amuses me. First of all, Bush is not the President anymore and had nothing to do with this situation, nor is the topic about Bush. It always seems like this is used to deflect attention away. I don't get it. Do you feel like everytime the current administration does somehing wrong that the sins of all previous administrations be rehashed and brought up again?

JAMS --- 11 years ago -

Liz, the real question is why no outrage over the Benghazis that happened under a Republican president?

To say "well, he's not prez anymore" is a total cop out, an accountability issue, and diminishes those deaths.

Do you mean to say that the only deaths that mattered are the current four?

JAMS --- 11 years ago -

There was no outrage then, and there isn't an outrage now, so nothing is being rehashed.

NO ONE CARED ABOUT ALL THE DEATHS UNDER BUSH, but the four deaths under Obama's watch suddenly matter to you all.

That's the hypocrisy and issue we have.

LizKeen --- 11 years ago -

Liz, the real question is why no outrage over the Benghazis that happened under a Republican president?

I recall a lot of outrage over the Iraq war. Did it just not come from the right people?

To say "well, he's not prez anymore" is a total cop out, an accountability issue, and diminishes those deaths.

I think you glossed over the whole "Bush had nothing to do with this situation" comment because that was the point.

Do you mean to say that the only deaths that mattered are the current four?

Absolutely not. But on a thread about this situation, instead of commenting on it, the poster brings up Bush like he is relevent to this situation.

You don't agree with that?

There was no outrage then

This is ridiculous. There was plenty of outrage, it looks like you guys are upset it may not have been from the people you wanted it to be from. So because there wasn't "enough" outrage for you or it didn't come from the right people...this situation should be overlooked and accepted?

Ender --- 11 years ago -

So what is the end state here?

Do we give this one a pass because other atrocities have went unpunished?

RiteWingKing --- 11 years ago -

I have a question.

Why would J. Christopher Stevens go to the diplomatic mission in Benghazi knowing how unsafe the situation was and the significance of the 9/11 date?

JAMS --- 11 years ago -

Liz, total cop out.

And my question was over a the Benghazis under Bush, not the Iraq War.
You know how many embassy deaths occurred, don't you?

Bellarue --- 11 years ago -

Commoner Sense --- 11 years ago -

There was plenty of outrage, it looks like you guys are upset it may not have been from the people you wanted it to be from.

Look at those numbers again. Shouldn't everyone be outraged over it? I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of the right. Speaking of, check this out:

January 22, 2002. Calcutta, India. Gunmen associated with Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami attack the U.S. Consulate. Five people are killed.

June 14, 2002. Karachi, Pakistan. Suicide bomber connected with al-Qaida attacks the U.S. Consulate, killing 12 and injuring 51.

October 12, 2002. Denpasar, Indonesia. U.S. diplomatic offices bombed as part of a string of ?Bali Bombings.? No fatalities.

February 28, 2003. Islamabad, Pakistan. Several gunmen fire upon the U.S. Embassy. Two people are killed.

May 12, 2003. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Armed al-Qaida terrorists storm the diplomatic compound killing 36 people including nine Americans. The assailants committed suicide by detonating a truck bomb.

July 30, 2004. Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A suicide bomber from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan attacks the U.S. Embassy, killing two people.

December 6, 2004. Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Al-Qaida terrorists storm the U.S. Consulate and occupy the perimeter wall. Nine people are killed.

March 2, 2006. Karachi, Pakistan again. Suicide bomber attacks the U.S. Consulate killing four people, including U.S. diplomat David Foy who was directly targeted by the attackers. (I wonder if Lindsey Graham or Fox News would even recognize the name ?David Foy.? This is the third Karachi terrorist attack in four years on what?s considered American soil.)

September 12, 2006. Damascus, Syria. Four armed gunmen shouting ?Allahu akbar? storm the U.S. Embassy using grenades, automatic weapons, a car bomb and a truck bomb. Four people are killed, 13 are wounded.

January 12, 2007. Athens, Greece. Members of a Greek terrorist group called the Revolutionary Struggle fire a rocket-propelled grenade at the U.S. Embassy. No fatalities.

March 18, 2008. Sana?a, Yemen. Members of the al-Qaida-linked Islamic Jihad of Yemen fire a mortar at the U.S. Embassy. The shot misses the embassy, but hits nearby school killing two.

July 9, 2008. Istanbul, Turkey. Four armed terrorists attack the U.S. Consulate. Six people are killed.

September 17, 2008. Sana?a, Yemen. Terrorists dressed as military officials attack the U.S. Embassy with an arsenal of weapons including RPGs and detonate two car bombs. Sixteen people are killed, including an American student and her husband (they had been married for three weeks when the attack occurred). This is the second attack on this embassy in seven months.

Care to guess who was president during every one of those attacks??? So if the "mainstream media" is covering for Obama, they must have REALLY been covering for Bush. Where is the outrage of all of these attacks and deaths? If you are so infuriated by Benghazi, why were you not infuriated over these? If Benghazi means Obama is weak, what was Bush?

Don't you look at this and realize that you are being led around by the nose? Don't you realize that you are being controlled? Why do you allow yourselves to be puppets?

Commoner Sense --- 11 years ago -

Anyone care to respond?

Commoner Sense --- 11 years ago -

You know, Benghazi happened way back in 2012, Liz, you should just let it go. Let it go, let it go, you are one with Fox News. Let it go, let go, keep singing the Obama Blues. You don't care, what the facts may be, Let the rhetoric rage on. The truth never mattered anyway.

JAMS --- 11 years ago -

No one who bellows about Benghazi will respond.

THOSE DEATHS DO NOT MATTER TO THEM!!!

Instead of trying to point fingers and blame why do we not look for solutions?

I think it is important that we find the answer to the following question.

Why would J. Christopher Stevens go to the diplomatic mission in Benghazi knowing how unsafe the situation was and the significance of the 9/11 date?

Could he not have accomplished whatever he was doing on a different date. Maybe we should have closed this mission as the British had already done.

All of the instances you mention were from 2008 or before. Did they have websites that tracked the "outrage" you so desire? I doubt it but I would be willing to bet there was outrage is the circumstances in all of these cases were the same as now.

What are you talking about? You people really get riled up don't you.

LizKeen --- 11 years ago -

Over 7.7 million results when you type "outrage over bush" into google.

guess if you really want to find it, it's out there.

Commoner Sense --- 11 years ago -

Yep. Riled up like a neo con bloodhound sniffing some Benghazi rhetoric.

You did see the meme pictures posted by your people earlier in this thread, right?

And no, there were not demands from Liberal congressmen to impeach Bush. There were not constant stories by CNN on the failures of the Bush admin over each of those attacks.

My point is, if you people are so worked up over Benghazi, are you just as worked up over those failures as well. Yes or no?

Commoner Sense --- 11 years ago -

587,000 results from outrage over pokemon

30,100,000 results from outrage of American Airlines

4,650,000 results from outrage over black annie casting

and....
32,000,000 results from outrage of kim kardashians skirt.

Maybe you want to learn a little about boolean searches...or are you saying that 4 times as many people are upset over kim kardasheans skirt as president bush?

BTW, outrage over Obama, 89,000,000 results. ;)

LizKeen --- 11 years ago -

Yep. Riled up like a neo con bloodhound sniffing some Benghazi rhetoric.

Huh? I have no idea what that means. Did you just call me a mean name or something? Was it supposed to be clever?

You did see the meme pictures posted by your people earlier in this thread, right?

Who are "my people"?

My point is, if you people are so worked up over Benghazi, are you just as worked up over those failures as well. Yes or no?

Is your point in the present tense as in, am I currently worked up over those situations? If that is your point, then no. I am sorry if that upsets you or makes me a neo con star wars pit bull something or another.

LizKeen --- 11 years ago -

Maybe you want to learn a little about boolean searches...or are you saying that 4 times as many people are upset over kim kardasheans skirt as president bush?

No thanks. I'll stick to just the regular searches but have you seen Kim's skirt? There should be more outrage.

BTW, outrage over Obama, 89,000,000 results. ;)

So now it's got to be MORE outrage instead of where is the outrage. I have a headache and need coffee. Have a great day!
