My menu is about the same as everyone else but I have to make a broccoli/rice/cheese casserole. It's a standard for my bunch for Thanksgiving as well as Christmas.

broccoli/rice/cheese casserole

I love this dish but for some reason I never make it and it's too late now. I will not go back to the grocery store!

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

My Hosts pretty much prepares all the traditional foods like you all have listed. I am in charge of the veggies. Fresh roasted veggies assortment this year will be: small red and white potatoes, green beans, asparagus, Tri-colored carrots, pearl onions. A crusted Spinach Souffle that I will make in single serving sizes. Fresh Whole Cranberry Sauce. Pumpkin Earthquake Cake. Can't WAIT!!!

CartmanUK34 --- 9 years ago -

steinhoister2016 --- 9 years ago -

Turkey with everything...and cracking open the first case of homebrew...I made an imperial pumpkin IPA...delicious.

Leila --- 9 years ago -

Mac & Cheese

Thanks for the reminder, I forgot we have that too!

It's a lot of food but everyone loves to eat the leftovers for days.

I love Thanksgiving. No gift giving frenzy, menu is pretty much predetermined and all easy for the most part, lots of tradition and enjoying each other.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

I am so glad for this post. I listed what I was bringing to Thanksgiving dinner and it made me realize I have to make the Kale Salad, too! Mandarin oranges and dried cranberries will give it awesome color. Lime Raspberry dressing will give it zing.

LOL - what time do I need to be there for some leftovers mamadog53? By the time Thursday is over with, I would love some brisket and pork butt ... and at least 1 slice of Coconut pie - nobody around here likes coconut and I love it! :)

you ought to try plain baked sweet potatoes, served with butter, sour cream or cheese- they're sweet enough on their own, and much healthier than white potatoes- you can mash them, too!

Leila --- 9 years ago -

Well, bah-humbug! You're no fun! J/k

I should make Buttermilk Pie. YUM!

RoseSr --- 9 years ago -

I aim to please everybody so I plan dishes for those who let me know what they like:
Grandson in Navy: Turkey and gravy
Son: Broccoli casserole with rice and cheese
Son-in-law: Green Jello salad
Husband: Pie, Pie, Pie
Daughter: Green salad with tomatoes
Granddaughter: Green Bean casserole
Unfortunately everyone is doing their own thing this year so I'm really cooking just for myself.

RedMulch --- 9 years ago -

I'm having a Big Mac and some fries. lol
