Went to wire money to out of state bank yesterday. Two of the employees ( one with a RACIST attitude against WHITES) Both told me that it was NOT their job to look up a routing number of a bank. I called our Finabcial Adviser and she told me that banks can easily acquire the routing information with other banks. What a JOKE CHASE BANK is when it comes to Customer Service. We will be pulling our three accounts next week. Any suggestions on a good bank in KW?

Prolix Raconteur --- 9 years ago -

Had similar lack of service with Amegy Bank. Pulled all accounts and went with Woodforest Bank. Much happier with the service but the lack of locations is the only drawback. Closest is Lake Houston Pkwy near Harbor Cove.

Is the one in Walmart's Neighborhood Market on Northpark closer...

...Buried in a mayo jar in your backyard.

Same interest rate- plus faster and easier access...

RW19 --- 9 years ago -

And what would you have done if that employee had looked up the routing number and it happened to be the wrong number and the money went to the wrong place?

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

We belong to a CU that is not convenient. Was previously using a partnered bank Smart Financial for cash transactions but they don't do it any more. That's too bad. We never found a local bank we liked here. I need to find one now, too. I guess we'll scratch off Chase and Amegy. I need a bank NOT on KW drive. Not many other than Town Center.

RedMulch --- 9 years ago -

I love Chase. They have been my bank since I have been here. (almost). I don't like Woodforest, or any of the small banks. Especially Washington Mutual who has now non-existant. I don't know a lot of people at the Chase on KWD except for the private client lady, I do most things online.

sheddy --- 9 years ago -

We bank at Bank of America, which I don't care for, especially since they have started doing away with drive up windows, but I love their credit card cash back. They give you cash back on charges and then we get an additional 75% of that amount. We charge everything thing, so I am always amazed at how fast it adds up. Then for them to give an additional money, just seems insane. I make more from that, than I do on our savings accounts.

Zapper009 --- 9 years ago -

On a serious note, if you ask nicely and not DEMAND it, they can probably assist you...

Joe Blow --- 9 years ago -

It doesn't matter where you bank Sheddy, you can easily acquire a credit card from another. We pulled all our money from mainstream banks years ago already and went with a credit union. We also bank at The Mint which has the best interest rates.

sheddy --- 9 years ago -

The window was just so convenient. I hate having to park and walk inside. I have tried to deposit checks at the drive up machine, but half them time the machine will just spit them back out. We did bank at a credit union in Oklahoma and loved it. It was small, they knew their customers and they would give me money if I just was carrying a drivers license. Of course, that was 20 years ago, things have probably changed even there.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 9 years ago -

I've been happy with Chase every since they bought Texas Commerce. They have a robust international service offering.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

I love my CU. They know us by name. But it is not located locally. Actually 20 mins away outside of Kingwood. But I do most of my banking online.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

I hate the "no routing number for you!" racism. It really is a problem.

gunsnroses --- 9 years ago -

Sorry if the TRUTH hurts :(. We are also Private Client customers with Chase and if this is how they serve us then it's a great decision to go with another bank that values their customers. It's basically a "no brainer"; employees TOO LAZY to look up a bank routing number for a Private Client customer or any other customer AND being RUDE.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

If you behaved in the bank the same way you behave online, they made the right decision. Chase bank is big enough to choose who to do business with. They don't need you. Good riddance.

gunsnroses --- 9 years ago -

Actually, I behaved like the lady I am; went home and made a phone call to the bank in NC; easily got the routing number and went back and a very competent man (from another Chase Bank) did the transaction and I was out the door. Ha! Why would anyone want to do a SIMPLE bank transaction in ONE trip when TWO trips gets the job done. HA!

Emperor of Kingwood --- 9 years ago -

When I read your comment I extrapolated it to customer service in all establishments. I agree, customer service (except Chik Filet) everywhere is dismal. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of earning your money.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

It's funny how people see things differently.

I have good customer service 99.9% of the time. Whether I'm at the grocery store, the EZ Tag store, the bank, any restaurant I frequent...the people are friendly and helpful.

I think you receive what you put out there. If you're friendly and courteous, you will receive the same in return. If you go into every situation like they owe you something and should be grateful you're there, you will be treated accordingly.

Being friendly, respectful, understanding and empathetic goes a long way in life.

Texvette --- 9 years ago -

I agree with Dorothy. Most often you receive the type of attitude you present. I use all the KW Chase banks and have not had any issues with Customer Service. However, I think their "Private Client" distinction is a joke. I am a "Private Client" and see/feel no different than before. It make make Chase feel like they are delivering something extra - but as a customer, I see no difference whatsoever.

Zapper009 --- 9 years ago -

Agreed...

(I know I'm going to get blasted fir this lmao)
"Friendly, respectful and understanding " like you are online on the forum?

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

You first, Tink.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

See? Right in cue!

CavemanBarney --- 9 years ago -

I have a savings account at a local Chase. I only have it in case I happen to get a check I need cashed. My credit union is 60 miles away. Chase is paying me a whole .01% interest on that savings. I get 10 times that on my CU checking and 20 times that on my CU savings. I will say though, the people in this Chase location have always been great, whether just to cash a check for me or to notarize something for me.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

On cue for what?

How is KU anything remotely comparable to customer service?

You act like an arse on KU, I will treat you as such. If you're a decent person, I act in accordance.

So, as soon as you're nice, I will return the favor. I have yet to see that side of you.

tennismommy --- 9 years ago -

Never had a problem with Chase. The employees are always helpful and professional.

Does it matter who it's with?

Yeah, it does. That's the difference between making love, and well, you know.

Zapper009 --- 9 years ago -

"That's the difference between making love, and well, you know."

What a thoughtful and mature statement - NOT!!!

mutton --- 9 years ago -

So how is no routing number for you racist? Did I miss something? I have done many a transaction but always had all the numbers required so have no idea the reaction if not.

mutton --- 9 years ago -

Also to add, they have detected "fraud" more than once for our cards, debit and credit, and sent texts so I could call or text to verify. I do not pay extra for this...

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

Dorothy. You seem to have everyone pegged here on KU as if you study their personality. Many times you are wrong, wrong. wrong. You have made ASSumptions about peoples' personality and let it be known publicly that you have generalized by their posts and come to conclusions about their personalities. You act forgiving but you are not. You are very quick to point out posters' weaknesses and points where you disagree with them. Then that is that. You rarely if ever forgive but rather continue to chastise them on future threads because of their other rants on previous threads.

There! I have *you* pegged now.

I remember the exact day that you started throwing buggers at me. Up til then, you were friendly and even PM's a few times. Not that I miss you. I don't know you well enough to mourn over that loss. You are a mother of 5 children. I had posted a point about a large family acting inappropriate in a store. I cast them in an unfavorable light because of their behavior. You have a large family, you took offense to that, I am assuming. shrug Since then you have been on my case. I am a decent person but you won't ever notice it again because of one post. Whatever. You are Post Prejudice and hold grudges. You spew icky buggers, flicking them on those you don't like. How can one person not like so many people? It is so evident!

A lot of people notice things on this forum. Just block me already.

a4912477uu --- 9 years ago -

Really? I have worked in a bank since 1997 and I can tell you it is a liability to the bank if the wire form is completed incorrectly and money is wired to the wrong place. For that reason, the banker doesn't assist with filling it out no should he/she. In addition, I have never known of a way to access routing #s for other banks as you suggested. The responsibility is yours and yours alone. Go on to another bank or credit union. You will find the same policy there. Rolling my eyes!
