OK, so the breakdown on my bill this month....

Water....36.34
Sewer....47.65
May drainage fee...12.17

So, of the 96.97, only 36.00 is actually for water!! OMG, THAT"S so annoying.

But all one has to do is stand back and look at that and see how the government is a MASTER at siphoning our money and calling it all kinds of pretty things...LMAO.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

WATER...it use to be essentially free.
Now, it's more valuable than gold, lol.

Dr Aborto --- 13 years ago -

My water bill was over $200. At least I know if I water every other day, that's how much it will be :/

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

For these prices, I want my water to come with a Dolphin attached0 ....

Puss In Boots --- 13 years ago -

LOL...at least have a few gold chunks fall out every now and then!

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

At least this way, when we're in a drought and start getting in trouble for using too much water, I can say hey, my dolphin NEEDS it.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 13 years ago -

LMBO!!!!

planemom --- 13 years ago -

We only water twice a week and ours was over $200 last month. The 8.9% hike this year hurts.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 13 years ago -

I haven't gotten my bill yet- I'll be afraid to open it-I'm already afraid to open my electric bill...

RedMulch --- 13 years ago -

Mine used to be $20. Then jumped to $70. I expected it because 5 people moved in with me (dd, dsil, 3 grandchildren) They moved in May and it is still $70 what's up with that?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

They moved in May and it is still $70 what's up with that?

Well, don't speak of it in public....you just might be one of the lucky ones who gets some kind of break from the water God of Houston.

That's the good news. The bad news is if it's an estimate of they screwed up, they're gonna sock it to ya next month, but for now, ENJOY!

RedMulch --- 13 years ago -

Jesus take care of me.....for sure.......

TinktheSprite --- 13 years ago -

Preparing to buckle down and finding funds elsewhere for my water bill. I water too much, well, actually I water "just right" but that might be considered "too much" by soeme. But I respect my landscaping too much to let it suffer. I will take a deep breath when I open my water bill, that's for sure!

Bahamamama of Five --- 13 years ago -

Seriously!!! Did something happen that I don't know about??? My bill last month was $56. Pretty much the average amount. This month's bill is $190.00!!! We didn't do anything different... What happened???

june --- 13 years ago -

Does anyone have a friend or relative that lives in other parts of "Houston"..the Heights, inside the loop, west side etc.? Could you check with them and see if their rate is the same as ours? Would be interesting to know.

kwgraniteguy --- 13 years ago -

Likely from an estimate and not a true read for the preveious mo, I despise that.

Bahamamama of Five --- 13 years ago -

So do I have to pay an estimate??? I just checked and in the past year, my bill has never been over $64.00. I don't water my lawn and had no excessive usage that I can think of.

Joker --- 13 years ago -

You are part of the City of Houston - enjoy your taxes! I am sure Detroit also has a few nice suburbs they keep for tax income.

Are the Villages on I-10 really smarter than KW? Don't see them paying the City.

june --- 13 years ago -

Joker, were you here when Kingwood was annexed by the city? We fought long and hard with everything we had to try to stop it. There were protests, meeting after meeting, letters written, months and months of civic leaders working hard to make it not happen. We all knew we would pay dearly for less, worse service and it happened exactly that way.

Joker --- 13 years ago -

You fought fire with confetti, how else would this have turned out? You gave the City a cash cow that supports itself. The City will NEVER let you go as long as you show a profit on the City balance sheet.

TinktheSprite --- 13 years ago -

The CofH had plans to annex KW before 1982, long before those Annex-Fighters lived here. The battle against annexation 10-15 years after its initiation was moot.

Joker --- 13 years ago -

Only place worse is Clear Lake - they really screwed the pooch. Can you say that on KU or are you easily offended?

ACHS --- 13 years ago -

You want to talk about water bills, my current bill is $301.00!

halfof8is3 --- 13 years ago -

Did you look at how much water you used this past month compared to other bills? I would have them come out and check for leaks etc. You can look at your meter, make sure no water is running, look at the meter if it is moving then you have water running/leaking from somewhere.

planemom --- 13 years ago -

Part of the increase is due to the planned rate hike. It was 8.9% and started in the middle of April or May. If you look online you can see what you paid for the same amount of water last year. The water rates have increase every year for the last several years. With the water restrictions last year most of us didn't notice the rate increase so we are being surprised with the cost for this year.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

Yep, just in time for summer watering demands!

Hooray!

Gigix4 --- 13 years ago -

I've got a new neighbor that just moved in,from Californis, about a month ago. The yard had kinda' been neglected and she wants to get it into shape so, I kid you not, she has been watering (in ground sprinkler system) at least once a day and sometimes twice a day.
I tried to warn her about her water bill and she said she had already gotten 1 bill but it was only $142 ... she had only been in the house about a week when that one came.
I'm afraid she is in for a big surprise when this next one comes.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 13 years ago -

Thanks Mayor Parker!

Storm Jane --- 13 years ago -

I have a friend in the heights and he said that his bill has been about the same it just went from 20 to 40 because he's dishwasher is broke. They shower 2x a day and a few baths a week. But he thinks the annex has different rates and he doesnt have a lawn..

voice of reason --- 13 years ago -

all in the city of houston pay the same rates, you all!!!! it's in the way that you use it!

Meme2my5 --- 13 years ago -

Mine was $29 last mth, I was thrilled. This mth it was $135.

planemom --- 13 years ago -

he doesnt have a lawn..

That makes a difference. Our water use doubles the months we water.

june --- 13 years ago -

Not sure about that Voice of Reason...my neighbor has a friend in Houston who has 4 children (baths/dishwasher/laundry)and a sprinkler system he runs often and his bill was $97, $89 the past couple of months. Those same water usages in Kingwood would result in a $200-$300 bill at least. I'm trying to find out what his rates are to compare. Why would his usage cost so little?

Mango --- 13 years ago -

Ok, not one to jump on the band wagon but I recieved a call from CoH stating that last month I used 39,000 gallons of water and my bill is estimated at $509.00 .....WTF! We have a family of 3 and nothing has changed since last month....why then would my bill sky rocket like this????

PeopleRPeople --- 13 years ago -

Go look at the meter...if the red arrow(I think it's that one) is spinning like crazy-you have a leak. This happened to my father more than once last year. You send in proof of a leak and they will refund part of the bill.

RedMulch --- 13 years ago -

My bill skyrocketed from $18 to $29

Gigix4 --- 13 years ago -

My bill skyrocketed from $18 to $29

OMG! What color is your grass?

Dorothy Parker --- 13 years ago -

My bill skyrocketed from $18 to $29

are you being serious?

What are your neighbors paying for their water?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 13 years ago -

My bill skyrocketed from $18 to $29

are you being serious?

Yeah, apartment dwellers pay more than that! What gives...

I Kissed Frogs --- 13 years ago -

Mango, that was my exact bill last month and then this month was $200 cheaper and I didn't change anything.
