Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

Hi, I live in Kingwood and I was at a Summer Solstice Circle yesterday in Spring and I was told that there is a strong group of pagans in our area if this is true please contact me I live in Kingwood and have been involved with the Pagan community since 1989 and lived in Kingwood for ten years, it would be nice to not have to travel so far to fellowship with friends. Please call or email me, Sandra *removed* my phone also takes texts I would also be willing to put together a small study group at my house in Greentree Village

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

you won't have any trouble finding pagans in kingwood or houston

i think that there is some "big" pagan event in houston this coming weekend

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

Thank You I know there is a group in Conroe and Spring and in South West but I am looking for a closer group, If you find out events on this weekend events let me know

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

If you find out events on this weekend events let me know

sorry...but i believe in God and my Savior Jesus Christ...and someday i hope that you and all pagans come to know Jesus on a personal basis

zapper007 --- 12 years ago -

JL - how is it that you speak for Christ, personally.

Just wondering???

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

I love everyone and hope that there will be a day that I can look for my people without someone trying to convert me

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

btw I love your Jesus too

Sorry *Removed*, but we must not let it happen again:

JL - how is it that you speak for Christ, personally.

speaking the message of the Scriptures is speaking what Christ has already said

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

btw I love your Jesus too

nope...you don't...otherwise you wouldn't feel the necessity of being converted

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

Leather, Happy Summer Solstice to you as well and thank you for the welcome to KU

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Magick I removed for number for safety reasons. See message on your other thread. :)

Anna Conda --- 12 years ago -

and I was told that there is a strong group of pagans in our area

This cannot be true. Someone told you that there is a group of pagans in this area?

Either this is a joke or you do not live here. Kingwood seems to have more churches per capita and per square mile than any other place I have ever lived or visited.

LAXmom --- 12 years ago -

magick me - joined 2hrs ago - nuf said..

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

JL- you are the one that assumes that when someone says pagan they do not know Jesus(you jump to conclusions read your own words)

UR fake conservatives and moro --- 12 years ago -

Pagans can't be all bad, otherwise early Christians wouldn't have adopted pagan holidays as our own -- Easter and Christmas.

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

Jl-Again I am here to meet people not have a debate with people, and the people I am looking for know who they are.

Magick Me --- 12 years ago -

yeah and who here wants to argue that yesterday was the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, been celebrated, since before Christianity, the farmers still use it, even the Christian ones, its even recognized on channel eleven news?

LunaSeaDragon --- 12 years ago -

Actually yes there is a group here in Kingwood. Hi Magic Me! I am Brittany and I run the NE Houston Broom & Brew. We had our own Summer Solstice and ritual last night here in Kingwood. I live behind you on Long Leaf Lane. Please feel free to message me any time.

And is also top of the charts for this: http://www.chron.com/life/article/It-s-time-for-the-season-of-cheating-3646068.php

Correlation?

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

JL- you are the one that assumes that when someone says pagan they do not know Jesus(you jump to conclusions read your own words)

lol...i'm not assuming anything...do you not know what the definition of a pagan is?

Christians wouldn't have adopted pagan holidays as our own -- Easter and Christmas.

sorry to disappoint you...but Christians didn't adopt pagan holidays as their own

JAMS --- 12 years ago -

JL, lol...oh yes, they did.

It's sad that you don't understand the history of the religion you profess to be so educated about.

Anna Conda --- 12 years ago -

I don't understand the point you are trying to make. Do you believe there is a correlation between churches and being a member on that website for people seeking casual hook-ups?

Loki --- 12 years ago -

I don't know. It's just interesting to me that Kingwood is one of the most "devout" areas in Houston (if not the country) and yet also has other seemingly contradictory facets.

Smoochie and The Bean --- 12 years ago -

Correlation does not equal causation.

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

It's sad that you don't understand the history of the religion you profess to be so educated about.

i have nothing to do with religion...however, it is very simple...Christians recognizing the birth of their Savior on a day that is NEAR (and it wouldn't matter if it was the exact same day) a pagan holiday...doesn't mean they adopted a pagan holiday...did the pagans worship Jesus Christ on that day?...no they didn't...so the Christians didn't adopt their holiday

a601213uu --- 12 years ago -

Mm, welcome to the area. I'm not a regular here but was invited by another member here to let you know that there are other pagans in the area. Looks like you've found a resource, so I hope you follow up. I'm over near the woodlands, and it looks like you already know some resources around here. Welcome again!

Superunknown --- 12 years ago -

Did the Apostles ever give any admonition to celebrate the birth of Jesus? I know the Jewish wise men came to see Him. Did Paul ever write anything about celebrating His birth?

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

I know the Jewish wise men came to see Him.

that didn't happen...so apparently you don't KNOW

Superunknown --- 12 years ago -

that didn't happen...so apparently you don't KNOW

Wasn't there 3 wise men who brought Jesus' family great riches? I always wondered what happened to those riches.

Superunknown --- 12 years ago -

so apparently you don't KNOW

But you are right, I cannot find anything in Paul's writings that show he admonished believers to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I could be wrong but I haven't seen anything in scripture.

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

the Bible says nothing about 3 wise men...the Magi came to see Jesus and present Him with gifts...the Magi were priests from Persia (they were wise men because priests were educated)...the Bible didn't number them...people have ASSUMED that there were 3 because of the 3 gifts

Superunknown --- 12 years ago -

Interesting.

JohnLynch --- 12 years ago -

God, angels, and shepherds celebrated the birth of Jesus in Scripture...so Christians want to do the same thing...

Did Paul ever celebrate it? Personally I treat every day the same.

LunaSeaDragon --- 12 years ago -

Why hijack the thread with this discussion? This person was told there are others in this area by a reliable source and look they found the person they were looking for...me. There is room for us all here.
We actually had an open ritual last night here in Kingwood, there was about 30 people + kids that all came over to celebrate the Summer Solstice. And guess what not all of them were Pagan. I just want those to know that just because an area has a lot of churches doesn't mean that there is not other beliefs in the area. No jokes just speaking the truth as a Pagan and the group's creator.
