Nope because the same rules don't apply to everyone. There are many times mods click the ice button out of ignorance. Hasn't happened much lately.

The mods sometimes act like those prison guards in that study at Stanford.

Geting iced is no big deal but when you dare question it, other posters act like you're flipping out. Then the brown nosers jump in to kick you when you can't respond.

Kingwood.com doesn't have this problem. 

Who was the supposed antagonist? All I see on the Mod log is two icings for rude remarks. Since I didn't see it, I assume both people were making rude comments, usually to each other.

Also, in answer to the original question, it can be tricky when it comes to actual "offenses". Some people on here are SO good at walking the very fine line of irritating and stirring the pot without actually breaking the rules themselves and people get baited into the fray and flip out breaking the rules themselves in response. So I guess it's not about defending yourself as much as it's about how you do it.

Not true. I just got out of the ice box a few days ago for using the term "child like moron"... I thought it was a fitting term. Not obscene or over exaggerated. I say its hit and miss. Im not so clever to find the fine line of acceptable or not acceptable.

Still all in all these mods do a pretty good job as the ice box stays relatively empty and we here on KU rant as we do. 

I was iced once for no reason by the most sadistic mod ever to grace a blog (Warren). It was horrible, I was tortured (water boarded) into signing a confession then used as propaganda.

If it weren't for SiFi slipping me a piece of bread in solitary confinement I wouldn't be here now. 

I looked over the thread. Ed Earl should have been iced along with other two. She knew what she was doing in attacking another poster.

But others had to know they would be iced for what they posted if it was bad enough to be deleted (which is why things shouldn't be deleted unless it is one of about 4 words, lol).

But if someone had said to me what she said to that veteran, I would have found myself iced too. I wouldn't have cared either. It would have been worth it, I'm sure. 

We have this mod conversation about every two weeks...lol 

I doubt if a mod would come on here and lie and say they did not ice someone if they didn't. That is pretty much throwing their fellow mods under the bus and can't they see who ices and edits, etc?

They also are able to have top secret mod threads to discuss this stuff, right? Chances are another mod iced, someone who was not participating on the thread. I just think they should have iced the character that instigated it too.

As with all posts, those that are supposedly defending themselfs are subjective, some might call them whining, some might say they are stirring the pot, which is an iceable offense. Really, does it matter, at all? When they get iced they should just go away for the 3 days and get over it. None of this childish logging in under alts and defending and ranting.
