You can make the numbers say what you want most anytime. These early polls don't really matter as things will change after the debates. The only true poll is where every voter is asked how they are going to vote. That poll takes place Nov 8. 

But polls do change perception and shape opinions. So Hillary backers will push the worst Trump poll. Polls that have over sampled democrats, to help push the narrative and try to get Trump supporters down.

A good poll is the USC/LA Times daybreak poll. This one has Hillary up by 1 point.

What is surprising is that with how popular Hillary is, no one goes to her rally's. Either their is no excitement for Hillary or her handlers do not want anything out of the ordinary to happen at the rally that might startle her (see the balloon attack at the convention) that they limit the crowds to just enough to fill the camera lens. 

Nicely said. What I don't understand is if 70% (according to the polls) don't like the way the country is heading why is HRC getting supported. She is just status quo and will just continue the present policies of Obama. Could it be that this poll wasn't stacked like the ones that show HRC in the lead seem to be?

There is a lot of money available for polls in today's election arena. Over time, they show trends.

According to somebody with authority, the present Democratic lead is a whopping trend.

As a man in the street observer, I look at them as current information.

The shorter the campaign time available, the more importance will be attached, to show campaigns where the money might be well spent.

The ultimate poll is the ballot box. At this point, I believe Hillary will win by a very large margin. 

I get calls to participate in polls all the time. I usually hang up. So does that count?

Polling can easily be "directed" at and for a certain demographic to get a certain desired result. However that doesn't mean there aren't any that are quite accurate. There are some and they tend to not be partisan based or slanted. Like we know MSNBC 's will favor Hillary just like FOX news will favor Trump.
