I think there may have been a fatality accident on Mills Branch. The police have had Mills Branch closed between Riverchase section one and two for over an hour and a half and there is a motorcycle on the ground.

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

Prayers for all involved!

The Rougarou --- 8 years ago -

Single motorcycle/rider crash. Gentleman hit the curb and flipped his bike heading northbound on mills branch where it moves from four lanes into two. He wasn't wearing a helmet and did not make it. Prayers to his family and a reminder to all who ride to please wear a helmet.

MKgirl --- 8 years ago -

My parents stoped to help him and called 911. They will be devastated to know he didn't make it.

They saw the entire thing.

:(

Dotti --- 8 years ago -

I was in the Kingwood er last night and lifeflight was picking him up from the ambulance. According to what the EMT said it was a fireman and the EMT had alot of blood all over him. He said it didn't look good. He was not talking to me but one of the nurses in the er. I happened to over hear it. I don't know anything about him but I was praying for him last night. Now I am praying for his family, friends and co-workers.

Leila --- 8 years ago -

Heartbreaking. Please wear helmets. Bless his family and loved ones who got such devastating news.

Defcon1 --- 8 years ago -

Why people get on bikes without a helmet is something I can't even fathom.

This is terrible.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 8 years ago -

This goes for any type of bike.

Wear a helmet.

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

Sad. Condolences to the family.

DH went through a motorcycle phase. He went to our insurance agent and asked about motorcycle insurance. She says they are more expensive than most because they sell it along with a Life Insurance policy. She was only kidding but she made her point. Slick roads and other (inconsiderate)drivers make it even more dangerous to ride a motorcycle than a car.

Zapper009 --- 8 years ago -

I rode a bike after, surviving VN.

I had a serious wreck, and have NEVER gotten back on any motorized bike since.

Please, do not ride a motorcycle, EVER.

If you do, always wear a helmet - and get a $1 million of life insurance.

Then, don't say you haven't been warned you...

Fireman or not, it was a human being, son, grandson, brother, husband, father.... and deserves respect

sdanielmcev --- 8 years ago -

A helmet can prevent minor accidents from becoming major injuries, but in the case of a major accident, are useless. Sometimes even cause the fatality.

*LOL* --- 8 years ago -

I looked see if this was on the news anywhere. It seems like that being a fireman there would have something. Very sad.

a2871813uu --- 8 years ago -

A life changing event for all involved. God bless the family. Please know that your loved one was treated with respect and compassion when we all observed the accident and stayed by his side before the EMS arrived. A nurse was holding his head up, a man was telling him we are here bud hang in there. Very sweet moments. I'm a respiratory therapist and this was a difficult situation. Thanks to the lady and man who stopped and his wife stayed on the phone with 911. And the other man who directed traffic when his family came to see what we needed. Thank you for the Kleenex and wipes. Without everyone stopping and helping we couldn't do it without everyone. Every moment of that tragic accident has been in my mind. Repeating it. I'm so sorry for his loved ones.

*LOL* --- 8 years ago -

Those are comforting words a287. I hope that to know that in those very horrifying and helpless moments that he was being cared for in such kind and loving ways by our neighbors brings some small peace and comfort to his loved ones' broken hearts.

He did not pass away. They are performing surgery today. Please confirm information before you post it. He still needs everyone's prayers as his condition is still very serious.

MKgirl --- 8 years ago -

Wow thank you so much for posting this update. My parents will be thrilled to hear.

MKgirl --- 8 years ago -

They've been very shaken up about the entire thing.

SAHM2004 --- 8 years ago -

Unfortunately, this motorcycle accident turned out to be a fatality. He did not make it. Prayers for his family.

reh6110 --- 8 years ago -

SAHM, I just read his Caring Bridge page. It stated that he would be having surgery tomorrow. He is still alive unless something has happened in the last few minutes.

a2871813uu --- 8 years ago -

Thanks for the update reh6110. Let him know the group that were helping him are thinking about him. Prayers for the surgery today. Thanks so much for the update. I said a prayer when they were putting him in the ambulance. God bless.

Good lord. Is there a credible news story that could confirm what happened to this poor soul? At this point does anyone know if he was a local resident and if he was a fireman? It would be a service to him and loved ones to have a factual report posted instead of conflicting accounts.

Prayers to his poor family, friends and co-workers. As well as for the witnesses and people that came to his aid.

a2871813uu --- 8 years ago -

We never looked at his wallet for his name because we were all making sure he was comforted and taken care of. Our number one goal was to help him before ems got there. I'm so happy that he heard us telling him to "hang on".
I know everyone there has tears after hearing this joyous news. Please let the family know we are all thinking about him. Thank you.

*LOL* --- 8 years ago -

It was a blessing that you all were there for him. I hope it is true that he made it.

a2871813uu --- 8 years ago -

Me too. We as a group came together to help someone in need.

So happy to wake up this morning and read that this man is still with us. I am sure that he has very critical injuries but to know there is still hope that he is still with us is just is wonderful news. Praying for his complete healing and for strength for his loved ones and wisdom for his medical team.

Momi2two --- 8 years ago -

He's in surgery now. Expected to be out at around 7:30pm tonight. Family and Friends are grateful for your prayers.

Leila --- 8 years ago -

He fought such a valiant fight against such huge odds. I had prayed that he would make it and was feeling encouraged, as I know loved ones and neighbors and friends were as well. But his family now has the hard task or saying good bye and clinging to their precious memories.

I am saying a little prayer for their comfort and I am so sorry for their loss.

So, where did you see he passed? Last news was he was still with us?

MKgirl --- 8 years ago -

On his caring bridge page his wife posted the following :

Forever in My Broken Heart
Journal entry by Melanie Holt Tumbleson ? 9 hours ago

Yesterday at 10:50 pm, I said goodbye to my soul mate and best friend. Jason fought so very hard, but was unable to recover from his injuries. I know there are a lot of questions, because he was on a road to survival. I hope in time I will have the strength to explain it all. For now, please just know that the doctors did everything they could, but his injuries were just too severe. He passed peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones.

I want to thank everyone for their love and support through this horrific journey. I can't express what it has meant to me and the whole family. Jason lived a life of love and service, and you are all testimonies of what a great man he truly was.

I am still working on how to tell the kids, so please hug them from afar, until I've had a chance to tell them
