(per KPRC)
JUPITER BEACH, Fla. - Police say golf great Tiger Woods has been arrested on a DUI charge in Florida.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says on its website that Woods was booked into a county jail around 7 a.m. Monday.

Jail records show Woods had been arrested by police in Jupiter. He was released just before 11 a.m. on his own recognizance. He has been charged under a Driving Under the Influence statute.

No other details were immediately available. Messages left for a Jupiter police spokeswoman were not immediately returned.

He hasn't been the same since the exposure of his secret side of life. Even his golf game has seriously declined. He's probably dealing with reaching his peak professionally, injury issues with his back, divorced, it's a lot of not-so-fun stuff.

Gigix4 --- 8 years ago -

His own personal choices brought his demise. What a waste of opportunities.

jackass --- 8 years ago -

Waste? He's the greatest golfer of all time and a billionaire...a dui is a blip on his radar.

sheddy --- 8 years ago -

I know he has had health issues for years, but I think his private life being exposed caused his downfall. Everyone put him on a pedestal and I think it was too hard to go out and play golf in front of them. He talked about the head game and I don't think his head was where it needed to be after the scandal.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

"Waste? He's the greatest golfer of all time and a billionaire...a dui is a blip on his radar. "

And he might still be doing what he loves and what made him happy. And no he doesn't need money and won't go hungry ever. But we see this all the time, rich and successful people don't see money as a goal after they've become independently wealthy. He loved the game of golf and his bad decisions cost him his family and career. And now he still seems to struggle with wise choices.

them --- 8 years ago -

He's $260,000,000 shy of being a billionaire.

mutton --- 8 years ago -

No matter, it is still sad.

Steven Smith said it best. We didn't put him on a pedestal, he did. He sold us a line of BS as this great husband, father and heir to the golfing throne. It turns out he is a porn star chasing drunk. Until he can face his real self in the mirror and accept that the public is no longer buying his story, he won't get better. He lied again today saying alcohol wasn't involved even though the police clearly smelled it, he refused a breathylizer, oh and it was 3 AM. Tiger is clearly in trouble. I wouldnt be surprised if he isn't hooked on opioids too. Four back surgeries = a hell of a lot of drugs.

jackass --- 8 years ago -

Alcohol wasn't a factor, pain meds were.

If I were him I would high five myself in the mirror every day...I mean, I do anyway and I'm not even on the same planet as Tiger. I think hes just fine and human like the rest of us.

He's the GOAT.

jackass --- 8 years ago -

We didn't put him on a pedestal,

Very few people have dominated their field for as long as he did. If he had been at that level in any other sport he would be considered the greatest of all time.

sdanielmcev --- 8 years ago -

Snead, Nicklaus, Watson and Palmer all dominated. Besides, it's golf, a silly game. May as well be world tiddly winks champion.

jackass --- 8 years ago -

Can you make $800,000,000 playing tiddly winks?

Get back to me when you do...

Anything is possible when you're MAGAing

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

I don't think he lied when he said it wasn't alcohol. BUT he lied by omission by not clarifying what it was that caused his unsafe driving. Also, the not cooperating with police is as stupid as you can get. He feels entitled bc he's Tiger Woods. These kind of people often live in a world where they make all their own rules. As soon as they venture out amongst the rest of society and people, they falter, then they make excuses and cry about it bc to them it feels unfair in their Kingdom.

All people are flawed but let's be real. Most don't go down this kind of path where others lives are destroyed and effected when they are completely innocent. Flaws that effect yourself and the struggles that come from it are a far cry from what this guy was into. He is a superior golfer, no one can deny that. He has character issues that need addressing.

Sharticus --- 8 years ago -

The first reports have the officer saying he was weaving all over the road, smelled of alcohol and refused breathalyzer. Now they are saying asleep at the wheel of his car (running), no alcohol, and failed the coordination tests miserably. Who knows.

Humans don't achieve "happiness" when they get everything they want. We were meant to strive, to fail, to not fail, to work, to rest, to evolve from all we have learned in that process. The soul and spirit, which is our true core, doesn't give a hoot about money, or golf, or big houses. In order to satisfy those things, we need love and selflessness, charity, a honest connection with others. You can't cheat the spirit, you can't Passify it with material things. That's how God made us. Some of us figure it out and some don't.

Highly overrated.

Must have been watching fox propaganda again. Real news said it was unclear from the beginning.

AMDG --- 8 years ago -

Sag - you last post sounds like you just got through watching the Pope's TED talk. Very much what he said.

And I very much agree. Just one small caveat. Although I do not think material things can bring real happiness - I have been both poor and not so poor, and not so poor is better.

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

You mean science

His biggest mistake was getting married at the height of his career, his wife went thru what millions go thru and come out the other end just fine, and it certainly looks like she has. Life not destroyed. We can paint it as dramatically as we wish but the reality is he's no different than anyone else, his life is just on display.

Does anyone else see the last sentence as very arrogant?

Karras --- 8 years ago -

Woods is a loser. Just put him with the rest of the cautionary tales that wasted their God Given talent on drugs, alcohol, sex etc.

You always hope that these people see the error in the ways, adjust, and have a comeback. Americans are forgiving and we do love comebacks.

As for GOAT, maybe. However, to me Jack won more majors so he is the GOAT.

You mean science

You mean Nature. Science is the study of Nature. Studying is something you may want to try before you post.

When you are worth a billon dollars these things just don't matter. Intros country wealth is king. If your rich it doesn't matter what you do or whom you do it to.

Really? Seriously?

Ask Bernie Madoff if being rich mattered.

Ask Jeff Skilling and Andrew Fastow if being rich mattered.

Ask Donald Blankenship if being rich mattered.

And what, exactly, did Tiger Woods do to anyone regarding this latest mishap?

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

Ask trump if being rich matters. He'll tell you all the things that he can do to women without their consent.

tinnman --- 8 years ago -

Ask trump if being rich matters. He'll tell you all the things that he can do to women without their consent.

Does that mean you have to be rich to do things to women without their consent?

Of course not. Just ask Slick Willie. He was broker than the ten commandments when he raped Juanita Broaddrick.

On a side note, I'm not sure what Trump has to do with Tiger Woods' DUI, but, I'm sure you have a good reason for hijacking the thread....or no good reason at all.

Prolix Raconteur --- 8 years ago -

It's fuzz and it's ALWAYS about Trump.

Puss In Boots --- 8 years ago -

You guys forget he won two professional events after hitting the tree. You can't put that much torque on your body and not have it break down. It's a repetitive sports injury. He has been smacking golf balls since the age of 2. That and he kept tinkering with his swing changing what did not need fixing. Golf's hard enough without that.

Some of you sound like you've been fed some "fake news" about his encounter with police. Fox? LOL!!
