Are you great again? So much winning!

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 6 years ago -

Sadly, you sound happy. Are you? Why?

sdanielmcev --- 6 years ago -

Not according to GM. They are closing plants of underperforming vehicle sales. Unless you have another source from GM.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 6 years ago -

Real Reasons for GM decisions to cut costs They even mention wanting to ride the tide of the strong economy! LOL

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

LOL Fuzz with the quick draw!

SoupIsGoodFood --- 6 years ago -

He shoots............... and misses.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

Not according to GM. They are closing plants of underperforming vehicle sales.

Thats what their CEO said. Specifically the Chevy Cruz.

I_won't_tell --- 6 years ago -

He shoots............... and misses.

Yet again!

OrdinaryGuy --- 6 years ago -

He is only interested in bad news. Anything to make the President look bad.

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

Remember Obama's photo op at the GM plant assembling the all new Chevy Volt, touting it as the climate friendly wave of the future, and vowed to buy one after he left the presidency? Well, he never did and now won't have the option.

Ford saw this coming years ago and retooled all production towards trucks and SUV's.

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

GM shares are up on Q3 profit of $2.5billion. And GM reported Q2 earnings of $2.8billion on the heels of Q1 profits of $2.2billion. They're making serious bank.

They report selling less vehicles but at much higher profits in 2018 (trucks and SUV's carry higher profits). This combined with downturn in demand for passenger vehicles led to vehicle specific plant closings.

Hell, in this economy, even Tesla can finally turn a measly profit, despite Elon's best attempts to convince his shareholders he's completely nuts.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

fuzz, why do stay in this country if you hate it so much? I'm just curious-

SodaPopAndRitalin --- 6 years ago -

fuzz, why do stay in this country if you hate it so much? I'm just curious-

Why must you always be so inflammatory? What has Fuzz said to make you think he hates the US?
I was born and raised here in Houston, and I don't think that America is currently great, but that doesn't mean I hate this country.
I think we're off track, but that doesn't mean hate. We can do so much better in many ways.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

sodapop, it would be a good idea to find out the facts before you jump in to a thread. fuzz has made it very clear how he feel about this country. He's a Canadian, and only lives here because the pay's high. SMH

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

and I don't think that America is currently great,

What country is greater than America?

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

I think we're off track,

How? Economic indicators are good, unemployment down, employment participation up and taxes lower. ISIS nearly eliminated, border being secured, military strong and capable. Whats off track?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

I asked you a question- You're not a US citizen- it's only "more American" when you're American. Why move to another country and then continually bash it?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

fuzzy, are you 12?

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

You're not a US citizen-

Why bother discussing American politics with a non American? Its like trying to teach a pig to sing. It wont work and its annoying.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

I think we're off track,

Add to it, that America is the most charitable nation on earth, ever. Also, America has delivered more people into freedom than any other country, ever.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

I'm implying you're an ungrateful visitor in this great country. Your question didn't make sense because I was born here, you were not. Is that clear enough for you? Maybe when the cooler empties, one of the other trolls can explain it to you.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

Simpler question: why do you continuously bash a country who's been so good to you?

sdanielmcev --- 6 years ago -

It’s just baffling that you think being born in America gives someone the right to free speech and criticality.
It does.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

Indeed.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

It's wonderful that a malcontent foreigner can live here, enjoy the comforts this country gives him, (including constantly hoping for bad things to happen to that country) and not be arrested as he would in so many other countries that he defends!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

The more you post, fuzz, the more conservative I get! I'm assuming that's why Trump was elected, and will be elected again. We don't really want more people like you coming here.

OrdinaryGuy --- 6 years ago -

We don't really want more people like you coming here.

Well said!

It looks like fuzzy is back in the cooler again.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 6 years ago -

Yep. Some people never learn. *sigh*

KwMillennial --- 6 years ago -

The OP may have overlooked some information and probably linked the layoffs to an unrelated cause, but that is what people appear to do in politics. Every news website and tv show does it.

So why does fuzz get bashed and shut down when he communicates the same thing. I honestly do not see anything that deserved his ability to communicate and participate in this forum to be completely shut down.

I came here on Monday to follow up on a Friday conversation and saw my ability to communicate was cut off too. There was no personal message or any communication to me about what boundary I crossed or took too far. Is this really how everyone likes it to be?

KwMillennial --- 6 years ago -

Fuzz, when your ability to communicate gets restored, I’m curious if you were a member of KW country club several years ago. I used to work there and remember several Canadians were regulars. They earned a reputation as bad tippers by the way, so if that was you, shame on you ;)

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 6 years ago -

?The OP may have overlooked some information...?

Come on. Lol! No one buys that. He never came on and said it was a mistake. He posts things to inflame. There?s a history of just that. You know it too but yet defend and then criticize Mod actions.

Let?s get back on topic please and not turn yet another convo into what you like and don?t like about this site. All one has to do is be respectful and not a troll, not rocket science.

KwMillennial --- 6 years ago -

No one buys it? Wow. Maybe you should speak for yourself and not attempt to speak for others too. Is that asking too much? I think that is what healthy communicators do, but please correct me if I am wrong.

I would also ask that you refrain from silencing me if you don’t like what I have to say. Just communicate with me and our goal should be to respect each other’s views, not to react by having the one person with a power differential to exert their dominance over the other.

So getting off topic by bashing the OP was cool.

Getting off topic by being critical of his Canadian roots was cool.

Deleting anything he had to say was cool too.

It’s also cool to insult me with that last remark? Can you simply help me understand who gets to be critical and who doesn’t, who is it ok to criticize and who is off limits? Just communicate this simple issue to me and help me understand it.

Who cares if anyone believes the OP is fishing for a reaction or not? That’s just part of how people communicate, especially about politics. Why is that wrong?

I_won't_tell --- 6 years ago -

Some are and will always be clueless.

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

Repeatedly calling people stupid in a passive/aggressive manner and chronically gloating in what he perceives as American failure and inferiority doesn't constitute how healthy people communicate. It's petty, shallow and immature.

Dorothy Parker --- 6 years ago -

KwMillennial-

This site only wants to promote 1 mindset, not engage in an honest discussion. It’s the same 6 people, saying the same stuff, day in and day out. I don’t know why Fuzz or Mark stays on this site. They are treated horribly by the moderator and constantly iced.

What’s the point?

This is why I rarely post here. It isn’t fun or productive. Seeing people whine and attack the same two people over and over again, gets old.

KwMillennial --- 6 years ago -

They are treated horribly by the moderator and constantly iced.

There appears to be 2 that post here and only one of them does appear to treat people kindly. I think the other one appears kind and thoughtful (and intelligent) in some of her posts but gets rude, authoritative, and insulting just when “getting into character” as a moderator. She is probably a great person, good friend, good wife, good mom, and all that. But these forums make it difficult for all of us to truly read each other and react appropriately.

With as few people that post here, this place probably only needs somebody to clean up inappropriate images and doesn’t need a whole lot of lecturing about who is a troll and who is not, nor any bold and broad statements about what nobody thinks or everybody thinks. That kind of arrogance gets old quick, but sometimes people just need better coping skills to deal with real life stress.

I just want to be able to communicate with anyone that wishes to participate. There is really no need to shut people down when only a handful of people are posting.

OrdinaryGuy --- 6 years ago -

I just want to be able to communicate with anyone that wishes to participate.

The problem is there is no communication between people here. No one listens! You either like the President or you don't. There doesn't seem to be any middle ground. I didn't like President Obama but never called him names or posted terrible memes about him. It seems to me that the left never really accepted the outcome of the 2016 election. It also seems that they want Pres Trump to fail at any cost. They don't seem to care about all the successes he has had. They just want him to fail. Because of that they tend to grasp at anything that seems negative about President Trump.

I will admit (it's no secret) that I support the President and that I didn't like President Obama. Again, I will say that I never really attacked President Obama as much as the left on here attacks President Trump.

It's too bad that you really can't have an intelligent debate on here anymore.

OrdinaryGuy --- 6 years ago -

Back on topic. GM didn't lose 1 billion dollars as the headline suggests. The steel they CHOSE to buy had tariffs on it so their COSTS were 1 billion dollars higher. They could have chosen to do business with American steel companies and saved their money.

Prolix Raconteur --- 6 years ago -

GM epitomizes corporate greed. They've been bailed out by the government, get gvmt subsidies and tax breaks and have turned profits between $2billion an $3billion every quarter this year. And when car sales falter due to increased demand for trucks and SUV's, they just close the plants instead of taking more expensive measures like retooling plants or participating in employee relocation to other profitable plants.

Trump was right to call GM out like he did yesterday.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 6 years ago -

GM epitomizes corporate greed

....as well as short term thinking.
