Due to an extra marital affair...married 37 years to the same woman.

Sad for all involved. :(

sunshine1881 --- 12 years ago -

Cheaters suck!!

wayward1 --- 12 years ago -

If he couldn't keep that secret, I have to wonder how effective our clandestine spies missions are going.

good point. why can't you so called men keep it in your pants?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

I think there's more to this than we know, yet. They are saying there might have been info compromised or something else related to security issues. Otherwise just a marriage/affair issue shouldn't be enough to resign your job for.

zapper007 --- 12 years ago -

Maybe we can make this a law...lol

zapper007 --- 12 years ago -

Always a problem - when sensitive info is involved.

Any personal issue sets a person up for information compromise...and therefore the security clearance must be pulled.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

There is usually much more to these issues than just that. There is also a woman who didn't keep her pants on either...just sayin'.

You just never know what people are going through. His wife might be a looney tune, not excusing it, but people feel stuck sometimes and they don't get out of marriages for a million reasons...when they should and just get it over with. It's also possible he's the looney, but he doesn't appear to be a womanizer type, who knows...

Yes, that is def. what this is about.

not necessarily. it said extra marital affair, could have been a homosexual one. but even if it was a woman, we don't know that she was married.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

we don't know that she was married.

I know, but whether she was married or not, she knew he was, that's sketchy too.

Looks like maybe he wasn't fully vetted, or someone dropped the ball when they performed his background check.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

the affair, itself, shouldn't have been that big a deal- as was stated, it's the possibility of a leak of security info to the wrong person-

Loki --- 12 years ago -

Stinks to high heaven.

These matters are not handled in this way.

Normally, he would have resigned for "health" reasons or for "other opportunities". Intelligence agencies do not air dirty laundry as it shows holes in security.

Yeah, I'm going conspiracy theory on this one.

zapper007 --- 12 years ago -

Well Paul Harvey, what's the rest of the story???

needsleep --- 12 years ago -

Pillow talk to what may seem to be the other woman probably was planted spy. He replaced Gen Stanley McChrystal after Obama asked for his resignation.

Loki --- 12 years ago -

Well Paul Harvey, what's the rest of the story???

Don't know.

Honey Trap?

Bengazi hearings next week?

Ending a blackmail effort?

Heck, even in corporations they get to resign for "health" reasons... and the complainant gets paid off.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

so do you think the whole story is made up? Or, just the reason for resignation-

Loki --- 12 years ago -

I don't think it's made up. I just find it odd that they decided to make it public.

i know you're saying this because he was appointed by obama but you do realize that he was a four star general? obviously you don't but now you will say you do. ugh

no. replaced leon panetta.

Have they said it was a woman?

Loki --- 12 years ago -

Have they said it was a woman?

Rumor is that it's an aide to Elizabeth Warren.

Could be the wife is out for blood and threatened to go to the media, if he didn't admit it himself.

I guess I jumped the gun. Never assume conspiracy when there is a mad woman involved.

Way to assume! You know what they say when you assume something. I am fully aware of who appointed him and his status in the military before he was hired as Director of the CIA, but thanks for being rude and making ASSumptions!

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

Lmao. You men...;)

Lose lips sink ships!!

On a more serious note, I hope the wife didn't do this to spite him, it's so stupid IMO. Things like this should be private...you can divorce without bringing the entire free world into it!

ETD: Maybe the other woman was holding the affair over his head if they broke up..threatening to go to the media if they had broken up.
Note to men: Pick your women wisely. :)

Agent of Change --- 12 years ago -

OMG!!!! Quelle horreur!!!!!!!

The French!!! They are SHOCKED...really shell SHOCKED I tell you!!!!!

Really....Who gives a flying rat's behind?

He got caught dipping his wig. As the head CIA guy, you would think that he would have been able to keep this secret. If he can't cover himself, how can we expect him to cover us (Americans).

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 12 years ago -

You can TRY and actually keep the secret yourself, but there was another person involved here, the woman, and we don't know what her influence was or who she might have told or who might have found out purely innocently..lots of variables. And hate, anger and pi$$ed off people to add to the list. lol

Tejas mom --- 12 years ago -

He is also being investigated to see if he gave up classified e-mails to the author of the book about him. And Adultery in upper level Military Officers is punishable by dishonorable discharge. They don't play by the same rules as non-military.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

it was just on TV...supposedly, the gov. were all surprised and saddened...right-

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

he dipped his wig, too??? Unforgivable!!

But with obama in power, i doubt that will happen. Apparently promiscuity is the new norm.

Warren Peace --- 12 years ago -

Not enough male participation here. For grins, let's go there.

Here's the General's wife:

What do you say guys, does the General get a pass?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

I'd bet the farm that his resignation had nothing to do with his affair, no matter how loud the gov. says it had nothing to with Benghazi..

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

I think he, like Hillary, fell on his sword-

Juicy Toe Funk --- 12 years ago -

yikes! Its all making perfect sense now.

Warren Peace --- 12 years ago -

I think he, like Hillary, fell on his sword-

Indeed he did "fall on his sword" ....repeatedly. Wait a minute...are we talking about the same thing?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 12 years ago -

LOL!! Well, IDK, Warren...a double entendre-

Donkey Hodie --- 12 years ago -

I agree that they should be held to a higher standard, but technically, he was retired from the Army as of August 31, 2011, about a week before he was sworn in as head of the CIA.
