Good for this Pizza restaurant! So disgusting. I can not believe she filed a BBB report on them. What a lot of nerve.

SPRING, Texas -- A mother and her children were kicked out of a restaurant after she changed a diaper at the table.

It happened at Brother's Pizza Express located in the 100 block of Cypresswood Drive.

Miranda Sowers said it all started when she took her 4-month old into the bathroom at the restaurant and there was no changing table.

She was alone with her baby Reagan, 4-year old daughter Lauren and 8-year old daughter Katelyn.

She didn't want to take everyone back to the minivan to do the diaper change.

Miranda said her next decision was a last resort.

"I thought you know what I've got my own changing pad, she's tiny, she fits right here on the chair." she told us. "So I laid her down quickly and quietly changed her diaper."

According to the employee who saw it happen, it wasn't quick or quiet. Bessa Lala's family owns the restaurant and she couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"How would you feel," she asked. "You're sitting there eating. I don't want to lose all these other customers because they see a dirty diaper."

Bessa's brother Donny Lala is the manager and said customers started complaining. A regular to the restaurant even sent a text message to Bessa about what was going on.

"As soon as you start opening the diaper, people start complaining about the smell of the diaper," said Donny Lala. "Last thing I want is a customer throwing up."

Sowers argued that no one saw her change the diaper. Her family's food was brought out in "to go" containers and they were asked to leave.

Sowers filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

The restaurant employees stand behind their decision.

They are a small business but have considered investing in changing tables in the restrooms.

Hmm..

I can see both sides of this situation. If her kids diapers are half as bad as some of my sons have been I would have been an angry customer at that pizza place.

Work in Progress --- 10 years ago -

That's gross and unsanitary. I only fault the restaurant for not having a changing table. Babies are pretty common in our society. You might as well expect them to need a diaper place.

But the mom could have sat on the floor. The table where food is placed is inappropriate.

FabFive --- 10 years ago -

The baby is 4 months old (not stinky toddler poop)and she changed the diaper on a chair not a table. There's a lot of Grey area here but the jack hole restaurant should have a changing table. It sounds to me that there weren't any complaining customers. If I had seen her I'd have felt bad for her.

I would like to invite you over to my house for a visit.

My son is just over 2 months old and he creates things that rival anything my daughter ever "produced".

FabFive --- 10 years ago -

To be honest I'd rather eat at a table where an infant had a diaper changed on a chair than some grown man that just went poop or jacked off and didn't wash his hands. My husband has told me more than I cared to know about what goes on in the men's bathroom with nasty men not washing their hands.

FabFive --- 10 years ago -

Ender, this is only the beginning. Boys are so gross.

Wicked --- 10 years ago -

She needed to remove the baby from the restaurant and change the diaper. You don't do this in a place that is serving food. Yuk!! And 4 month old baby poop stinks!

Seriously? OMG. How nasty. Take your baby to your car and see to her needs there. Many small restaurants and other places don't even have room for changing tables, although this one says they are adding one.

It is just disgusting to me that someone would think that having a poopy diaper anywhere near where people can smell and view it while eating is at all appropriate. Health hazard and just ridiculous that she could not have taken her little family out to the minivan for a quick change in private.

Olivejuice --- 10 years ago -

Boys are so gross.

I have a daughter in college, last year she was in a female dorm with community showers and bathrooms, Trust me, I've heard the stories, boys aren't the only "gross" sex.

gunsnroses --- 10 years ago -

OMG! Human feces at the public dining table. This idiot mother should have been arrested as a public health hazard. Must be from THIRD world country.!!

Elsa --- 10 years ago -

My youngest had hazmat worthy diapers from the time she was a newborn. The mom should have gone to her car...changing a diaper where people eat is rude and inconsiderate.

FabFive --- 10 years ago -

LOL I didn't say it was ok, I said I felt bad for her. Breathe. Xanax. Whatever.

Leila --- 10 years ago -

It sounds like the woman was the jackhole here. I think the restaurant did the right thing. I think she has a lot of nerve complaining to the media about it.

And read again..the article said there were complaining customers. I would have been one of them, lol!

Dorothy Parker --- 10 years ago -

I had babies with toddlers and never considered changing a diaper out in the restaurant...ever.

Common sense is seriously lacking in this woman's decision and complaint.

Ender --- 10 years ago -

My wife saw a woman complaining in the restroom of the movie theater because she had to change her infant on the wet counter.

I wonder why they do not have baby changing stations at the movie theater...

It is I WhyWhyWhy --- 10 years ago -

Some people are just idiots. No one wants to see or smell that while eating. gross

Seriously, leave you baby at home when you go to the theater. If you cannot afford a sitter you can't afford the movies either.

You can call me Michelle --- 10 years ago -

That is gross.

She should have just changed the baby in her car. That's not a big deal.

Kmhard1 --- 10 years ago -

...viewing the picture, questioning her decision making is a no brainer. Just look at those dresses she pu her daughters in!

Ya mean the baby doesn't want to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 5?

Ed Earl --- 10 years ago -

Aweful. Glad they kicked her out. Who wants to sit in the chair she changed the diaper in?

Rubicon --- 10 years ago -

Yuck! Take the kids to the car and change the baby.

WatchOut --- 10 years ago -

It's probably against healthcode. I bet this mother is a homeschooler also.

Jpgirl --- 10 years ago -

Nope sorry this is wrong - period end of thought. I had Both of my kids before there were even changing areas in the public bathrooms. It NEVER occurred to me or my hubby to change a diaper in a public place let alone a restaurant!!! Even if I was by myself I hauled both of them to the van and changed the diaper. How lazy and entitled. Sorry no excuse on this one- yeah for the restaurant. Most if society has lost their manners and sense of decorum!

lol. You posted what I was thinking.

TinktheSprite --- 10 years ago -

Poop at the dinner table. A big No-No at any age! Put the changing pad on the wet counter and change the baby in the bathroom or outside somewhere.

Me either. But I am not so sure I would want to use one of those public changing tables unless I was desperate anyway. I am too germ phobic I guess. But it isn't even like this woman didn't have a car to go out to. She had a minivan and was just too lazy to haul her butt out there. She probably stuffed the nasty poop-filled diaper in the restaurant's public waste bin too!

AngieKaye --- 10 years ago -

where is this restaurant. I think I am hungry for pizza! Glad they did that... I can't believe a Pentecostal person would sue though. So against their beliefs!!

OL AG 89 --- 10 years ago -

What did we do when there weren't changing tables? Certainly didn't change the diaper at the table!
Can't even imagine eating at any restaurant and at the next table over someone is changing a diaper!
I would of RIOTED right then and there!

Puss In Boots --- 10 years ago -

Pretty sure that is a health code violation.

I'm hoping they disinfected after that lazy mom left. Who DOES this?! Rude, inconsiderate and shocking.

Well isn't that a simpleton remark. You sound like a real winner yourself. That has absolutely nothing to do with anything.

Anyway, she has no leg to stand on calling the BBB. That was a disgusting thing to do.

Semper --- 10 years ago -

I wonder if she checked the handicap stall for a changing table. It is very unusual to not have a changing table- especially in a family restaurant.

snowprincess --- 10 years ago -

Nasty.

witchywoman --- 10 years ago -

I wonder why her outfit doesn't match the other two.

Polly Ester --- 10 years ago -

Judging from that picture, I think she might want to check that baby's diaper again....

Where does it say she is? Just assuming because of the way she and the girls are dressed? Might be.

Oregonian --- 10 years ago -

Same type of incident of a flight from Boston. Woman sitting the row behind us asked her little girl; "Do you want mommy to change your poo poo?"

She proceeded to do it on her tray table. The flight attendant politely told her that there were changing tables in the restroom..but too late.

Too bad the rest of us in the area couldn't request that she leave the plane at 35K.

Some people are just plan uncouth and stupid.

Dorothy Parker --- 10 years ago -

You have to wonder if these people change diapers on their kitchen table. Because a normal person would never consider changing a diaper where food is served.

ghostpost --- 10 years ago -

It slays me that she went to the media with this. I would be mortified. I guess she thought public diaper poo would generate the same kind of support that public breast feeding receives. Could she be that dense?

Hiro Protagonist --- 10 years ago -

If I was sitting near her, I would not have hesitated to tell her that's what a bathroom is for. Being on a plane sucks bad enough, I'm not going to put up with that.
