I know there is flooding out there. Anyone heard of who is flooding? There is very little on the news. I assume Greenspoint is safe this time? How is the San Jac? I drove by yesterday afternoon and it was up to the brim! Has it crested?

mutton --- 9 years ago -

I thought had seen one of the stations mention Brazos and San Jac as possible issues as they crest?

Gigix4 --- 9 years ago -

Last I heard is they expect the San Jac to crest sometime on Sunday but IDK.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

I'm sure of it as those 16" of rain from up north usually makes it's way down here. That little "put in park" off 494/San Jac is underwater.

Monitor the SanJac River at the 59 bridge here:

SanJac at 59

It's higher than it was a month ago and is rising.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

Thanks for the link. That's a swollen river!

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

Laurel Springs, the hill that leads up from Hamblen Rd in Forest Cove is a river!!

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

This is worse than 5 weeks ago!

Butterbean --- 9 years ago -

This is worse than 5 weeks ago!

Yes, it is, and the river has not crested.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 9 years ago -

News just said the SJ will crest tomorrow sometime. They showed people here in kingwood being evacuated and those people said its never flooded this way, in this area ever before. They were at the highest point of all houses on the SJ and they still flooded. So sad to people going through this...

kwtraveler --- 9 years ago -

I don't remember the exit of 1960 being closed before! It is now

Shana Su --- 9 years ago -

I just passed by and the water is to the hotels and the park and ride is underwater.

At Jesse Jones Park in Humble, the water is past the front gate.

Rubicon --- 9 years ago -

Unless you're on the lake or somehow affected by the water nobody really cares.

Rubicon --- 9 years ago -

I'm on the lake. 😕

Kingwood lakes houses on the inlets, not looking good at all.

genxer --- 9 years ago -

Anyone know when San Jac is going to Crest. I was looking and it seems that in 94 it got to 66 ft. and that put the water at the intersection of Kingwood Drive and WLHP. Its at 61.85 right now.

Also is it over 59 yet. I'm thinking of heading to a BBQ and am wondering if I just want to stay home today.

cnk23rln --- 9 years ago -

From reports I have seen, approximate crest time is 4PM today. I'm not sure how bad it will end up. I have not ventured further than intersection of KW Dr. And WLHP.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

That good it crests today. The last report I got is that it will crest on Thursday. It could do a lot of damage by then. It is 2 ft above flood stage right now.

Parts of Spring, Tomball, and Magnolia.
The flooding was much worse than last time.

2978 at Spring Creek is still closed; water is over the roadway. I think it was 100' +
As of late this morning, Hardin Store was still closed, so couldn't access 249.

It's still a mess. I spent all morning demoing walls and ripping up flooring.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

The 10 day forecast shows 80-90% chance of rain Wed-Sun. I hope they're wrong!

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

So sorry, Jams!! :(

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

It poured and stormed in areas of San Antonio last night. I know that water is headed this way via creeks, bayous, and rivers as well.

whatchamacallit --- 9 years ago -

The river level is going down right now. Is it supposed to rise again soon or will there be time for it to go down quite a ways before more rainfall or water from upriver make it rise again?

RedMulch --- 9 years ago -

kingwood drive is scarry. The golf course is scarry. Whoever thought a golf course would be scarry??

kingwood resident --- 9 years ago -

We drove south on 59 this morning and I thought the San Jacinto river had crested. There is water everywhere all the way to Deerbrook mall. The hotels/motels had cars under water in their parking area. If its going to crest this week there will be more serious flooding.

Gigix4 --- 9 years ago -

According to the current forecast, more rain on the way starting sometime Wednesday and 60% of more storms on Thursday.

DP, my house is fine. This is my barn owner's property.

I walked right in and out of the barn - it's easily 2-3 days work before it'll be ready to move horses back.

Not KU --- 9 years ago -

Hope all are ok in KU. All is well in my neck of the woods in Atascocita. I think my home value went up as everyone elses yards went under.
