Why???

Do you have a logical answer???

jackass --- 1 years ago -

Free country.

whatchamacallit --- 1 years ago -

They are free to join whatever group they want. That's part of being in America.

If we start limiting peoples activities, where will the line be drawn and who gets to decide?

While on the subject, I have a question? Can you explain what makes you think that groups that are for blacks (or any other non white group) only, are ok, but groups that are for whites only, aren't?

Isn't discrimination evil, no matter who it is against?

Jepperd --- 1 years ago -

While I agree in theory, I think there is no place in America for groups that fly the Nazi flag. This is a group that specifically targeted people for extermination. If you are fine with free speech and these people gatherings, then you should also be fine with people supporting ISIS gathering in the US.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 1 years ago -

I completely agree with you, but it's just one of those crappy things that come with freedom.

Are we great again yet --- 1 years ago -

Rember Westboro Baptists?
Ask yourself what side was I on then and what side am I on now, what makes it different?

Emperor of Kingwood --- 1 years ago -

They're called mosques.

No one here said that.

SoupIsGoodFood --- 1 years ago -

Get rid of them all: KKK, white supremacists, BLM, antifa............ ALL OF THEM.

They're all trouble.

sheddy --- 1 years ago -

Both sides are just as bad. It wasn't too long ago that blacks were taking to the streets, burning businesses and threating the police. People can get up and say whatever they want, that is what makes America great. They may look and sound stupid, but as long as it is just speech, it doesn't bother me. I don't have to listen. It is when they start harming people or distroying property that they have crossed the line.

Karras --- 1 years ago -

You forgot to add Communist, Socialist, and anyone that goes to a march carrying a flag that does not have 50 stars and 13 stripes.

What is more troubling than the very small group of KKK and Neo Nazis are those of the left who want to make illegal those that they oppose, crushing their freedom of speech and removing statues of those they disagree with. Those people are dangerous because there are millions of them.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 1 years ago -

.....are those of the left who want to make illegal those that they oppose, crushing their freedom of speech and removing statues of those they disagree with. Those people are dangerous because there are millions of them.

Fully agree.

I don't have to like what you say but I will defend with my life your right to say it. As well, I will fight your efforts to stifle free speech with same vigor I defend it.

BuiltinTX70 --- 1 years ago -

.....are those of the left who want to make illegal those that they oppose, crushing their freedom of speech and removing statues of those they disagree with. Those people are dangerous because there are millions of them.

And the other group simply wants to kill you if you don't agree with them, or oppose them.

sdanielmcev --- 1 years ago -

There is only one logical answer, there is no law against it.

tinnman --- 1 years ago -

In 2017 - why is it legal to be a white supremacist, a KKK member, or a neo nazi???

Why is it legal to belong to the Nation of Islam, The Black Panthers (when they existed), or BLM?

Equally racist, militant, and offensive.

No one is calling for BLM or Nation of Islam to go away.

Would the world be a better place without the extreme racially based groups? Yup.

But, our constitution guarantees equal protection under the law for these groups. As with everything in life, anything that is good is always going to carry baggage that is bad.

It's called free speech. Not selective speech.

jackass --- 1 years ago -

No one is calling for BLM or Nation of Islam to go away.

You sure about that?

Hiro Protagonist --- 1 years ago -

The logical answer is the first amendment is designed to protect unpopular speech. Mainstream ideas don't need protection. This country is not supposed to have thought police.

I hate these idiots. There is no one more punchable than a neo-nazi, but they're idiotic views have every protection under the law. If we start arresting people for their point of view, what happens when your point of view becomes unpopular?

Emperor of Kingwood --- 1 years ago -

If we start arresting people for their point of view, what happens when your point of view becomes unpopular?

Its called fascism.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 1 years ago -

Everyone can think as they wish, it's who we are as a nation. The dividing line comes with actions. If your " thoughts" about hate cause you to throw stuff, beat up people and run them over with a car you should go to jail. And stay there.

Jepperd --- 1 years ago -

No, not the same. One side is racist, bigoted, Nazi. The other opposes racism and bigotry. Morally different universes. - Mitt Romney

BuiltinTX70 --- 1 years ago -

It's their right to protest, no doubt.

But when you did it with torches, and chanting racist remarks......there's going to be push back. That's just human nature. But it should never result in excessive violence.

Trump said there were good people on both sides.

Question to anyone here: if asked to march with the protesting side on Friday, would you have done it?

Hiro Protagonist --- 1 years ago -

No, not the same. One side is racist, bigoted, Nazi. The other opposes racism and bigotry. Morally different universes. - Mitt Romney

Crystal clear.

one step beyond.

Dorothy Parker --- 1 years ago -

The defense of the White Nationalists on KU is disgusting. Not surprising, still disgusting.

AMDG --- 1 years ago -

While I agree the right to protest should be protected in the constitution, it does not protect you from many of the consequences of exercising your free speech.

That is IMO one big way we can stop these neo-nazi haters. Take tons of pictures of them at the protest - post them everywhere.

If you see your employee there - fire him/her.

If you see your neighbor there - tell them they stink - and never talk to them again.

If you see your girlfriend/boyfriend there - tell them goodby

If you see a shop owner there - tell them they have seen the last of you.

If you see your son or daughter there - shame on you

etc etc etc -

Emperor of Kingwood --- 1 years ago -

If you see your employee there - fire him/her.

That's dicey on the legal front.

BuiltinTX70 --- 1 years ago -

What you post on the Internet, and what you associate yourself with definitely comes with consequences. As it should.

Companies now give courses in how to manage what you say on social media.

Maybe DJT should take that course? What say you???

The Nazis we're not fascists. That was Mussolini and the Italians. If you're gonna post your hate speech, vor, get your thugs in order.
