The best! I've only had mu shu chicken and hot and sour soup. 

I like Oriental Gardens better...but it is good. I love the Sesame Shrimp at Oriental Garden, and the moo shu pork. The cashew chicken is good at Mencius, and the triple delight. 

At Mencius we get the dinner for two-delivered. It feeds 4. Won-ton soup, shrimp toast, egg rolls, chicken and vegetables, sweet and sour pork, and really good fried rice. 

i order almost every friday night and drew delivers :-) 

It's very good. So is the Hunan.

Okay, so what is shrimp toast? Shrimp toast is an appetizer made from small triangles of bread, brushed with egg and coated with minced shrimp and water chestnuts, then cooked by baking or deep frying. 

They have the best steamed pork dumplings and fried rice around. I also love their salt and pepper shrimp and their sauteed green beans.

Is it good?? :) Yes, it is. My favorite appetizer at Chinese places is Crab Rangoon...you usually get six in an order with dipping sauce..its a Deep-fried folded wonton "purse" filled with cream cheese, crab and seasonings. Yummy... 

Finally , some chinese delivery-haha! I have been in KW almost a year and have not found anyone who would rec'md a great chinese place. Howver, 2 questions....1)do they use MSG -I am highly sensitive to it :-( 2)Do they offer an online menu? Give a review cwangel- if you order! 

My favorite is the Mencius Beef. It is spicy, but yummy.

Can you believe I already got my food-WOW, that was quick! They said 45 minutes and it was maybe 25.. Off to eat now.. :) 

Okay, heres my review.. I didnt really care for the curry chicken-the chicken tasted "fake" and I didnt like how it tasted either.. Fried rice is pretty good and so are the fried wontons.. And the shrimp toast isnt bad, but by time it got here, they were pretty soggy.. I may try it again, but just not what I got tonight.. :)

too bad they don't deliver across the bridge to Humble. Ordered from Grand Garden last week and everything tasted like white pepper. I would have rather gone to Panda Express. 

I don't like chinese take out from anywhere. Doesn't taste good to me at all by the time it gets delivered. Although I love Mencius. Have been going there for over 10 years. Love the cherry chicken..love it! 

Finally went to Mencius. We've been long time residents of Kingwood and I can't believe it took us this long to get there. I guess the other places scared us to try anything new. But this one I am going back to!! Their prices are a tad higher than others but Oh! So. Worth. It. Unlike others' including the newest, my former favorite JJ China Diner in New the Kroger Shopping Center, there is NO abundance of sugar in their sauces, a melt of spice instead of overpowering of one flavor. Won Ton Soup to rival any Chinatown(s) loaded with tons of goodies and lots of noodle-y dumplings. Attentive wait staff who will supply you with fresh rice to top off your doggie bag. Made for a great second meal! Try the Pan Fried Noodles Hunan-style if you want something also authentic in flavor. I'm hungry for more! 

We love Mencius. Have been going for 30 years or so. Horace and Cindy are amazing and always greet us by name even if it has been a long time since we have been in. 

They used to have butter crusted crab, which is TDF. Have not been there in about 6 years, I don't know why 

Yes its good. Actual cooked food and not just heated frozen stuff. 

I had take out there one time, it was very average but pricey. People rave about the place so I need to try it again and eat there next time. 

Ditto SighFi's post. It wasn't impressive, imo. Hunan Garden is much better. Oriental Garden is good, too. 

I'm a Hunan girl myself, DP! It's always good. I don't eat there weekly or anything but when I do, it's always good. And my first choice for Chinese. 

Mencius is Hunan style btw. I find Hunan Gardens to be more Cantonese style but not a very good imitation of one. A little bland with all the sauces made from the cheap chicken broth and cornstarch. Haven't tried Oriental Gardens yet. Hin's is DD's fav. I can't stand all their sugary sauces.
