I remember its heyday; when posts were flying 24/7, it was hard to keep up and a lot of fun!

Apparently, we are now witnessing its slow demise with less than 20 participants and hours between posts.

RIP KU, it was good while it lasted. 

It's my experience that most message boards die from an unhealthy mix of politics over other topics. I was a member of a very colorful board at one point and always dreaded election years. It sucks the life out of everything. 

I remember the threads about old Kingwood photos, crazy stories about ZZ Gators, ghosts in old toasters, etc. Fun stuff.

Yeah, the troll thing is just ridiculous. No one even knows the definition. When a KHS student comes on for a week messing with everyone, that is a troll. Disagreeing with the supposed majority...uh, no!

But it IS a good example of what's WRONG with society. People not showing any consideration or kindness, or respect, being rude and insulting, then complaining bc they don't like the rules, which they defiantly consistently break. Changing the mods is your solution bc it allows you to not look within at your own behavior, or change it bc you fear accountability. The moderating is minimal... I lurk and rarely post because 99% of the topics on page one are political and have no specific concern to Kingwood. Get enough of that from other sources on a daily basis so don't need it here. It used to be fun and informative.

Invite your friends and neighbor's, post more non political stuff, come here more often. Just bc some have moved on dosen't mean we can't make it good here again. Everything in life is cyclical, up and down, good and bad, new and old.

If you want it more interesting, make the effort. Everyone just post more, it will pick up. If you give up and do nothing, you'll get nothing.

There is nothing wrong will discussing politics but it's the WAY people do it. When you have to be snotty, arrogant and truculent, it's a BOREFEST to everyone who has to witness it. You need to open your eyes and mind and see that is the #1 complaint here, break it down and analyze it.

I honestly think you are all about arguing. You love it. You find it stimulating for whatever reason but there's a huge difference between real discussion and what you do, which is repeat the same 5 sentences over and over ad nauseum. You might not realize this but no one but you finds it entertaining.

This isn't your site or your rules, so repeating "purge the mods" day in and day out just makes you look like someone who has no emotional control and can't move on no matter how many visits to the cooler.

I almost bumped a recipe thread by Chunky Heifer for cheeseburger soup that I made yesterday. Then I wondered what was the point.

I believe our beloved moderator was banned from that site which is what brought her over here. At least I think that's what I read at the time.

If you really analyze the timeline of events though, ATD, the posting here went downhill after she became a mod and was quite heavy handed. Now all the good folk are over on k.com who used to post here except for Perfection maybe. 

Mark, if everyone had to serve as mod at one point or another this board would be gone. I shall not name, but i can see it now under some, lol.
