Israel has been the strongest supporter of the United States in the Middle East. While most Arabs rejoiced on 9-11, Israel wept with the United States. Many Israeli's were born in the United States and have Western values.

In recent years Obama and his administration have insulted Netanyahu, called him chicken sh..jkl (literally) and spoken ill things about him accidently in an open microphone.

At the same time, Obama has been inept at slowing Iran for making an atomic bomb it says will be used against Israel.

Now Netanyahu comes to the United States Congress to make his point and Obama is doing everything he can to stop Netanyahu.

Israel's survival is at stake.

I just want to know why Obama is always on the wrong side. . .that really bothers me. It's not a democrat thing--Clinton wasn't always on the wrong side, he was usually on the right side with some obvious exceptions. But Obama always seems to dislike the good guys and root for (or even arm) the bad guys.

I think Israel's main issue is Iran. That is what they are trying to stop. Iran is a much bigger threat to them than ISIS at the moment. 

To stop ISIS, you have to stop their funding. Follow the money, and you will figure out why nobody has been able to stop it yet. Here's a hint, we're all trading our souls for oil.

Good question. Israel taking action against Isis would validate the Isis cause. All Arab countries (even Egypt to a certain extent) do not like Israel. If the Arab countries saw a Jewish state attacking Isis, they would feel compelled to support Isis.

I'm not in the oil field, so maybe you guys can it explain it to me. Why are we NOT stressing energy independence? Be it oil, nuclear, clean, whatever. Why are we not doing more to get to the point that we are not beholden to unstable governments that finance terrorism?

I don't understand. That would be the FIRST thing I would shore up if someone were ever foolish enough to put me in charge. 

Nuclear is extremely expensive to build and has that whole radioactivity issue. 

Is it not cost effective? Or is it that nobody wants a nuclear power plant in their backyard?

Or is it due to too much memory of Chernobyl, Fukishima, and 3 Mile Island?

Our own energy independence is easy to obtain, but its not just about us. The countries that control the production of cheap energy or at least influence the countries that do, control the economic development of other countries that are growing consumers of cheap energy. Control the economic development and you control the military might of other countries.

Nobody has a problem researching and developing new sources of energy. The problem is demonizing current energy production and setting unrealistic expectations.

Solar sounds great except for an inevitable daily event called dusk.

I like the idea of renewable energy, but Obama made it look bad when he gave money for development to individuals not serious about the proposition. It really muddied the water for renewable energy.

Gotta start somewhere. Agreed 3 mile island and other plants pose a huge threat. Both as a terroist target and available locations to build. No one wants it in their back yard. So why cant we build a wind plant off-shore? Same with a nuclear plant on Alcatraz? Why not?

I am frustrated with Obama because of the way he does things. My wife and I are pretty liberal on many issues. We spoke out 20 years ago in favor of socialized medicine (My wife calls it the "S" word because every time we say "socialized", people come out of the woodwork to jump on us). People in this country should "all" have access to medical care, unfortunately, Obamacare does not address the issue.

Deductibles are horrible, signing up has been impossible for some, and telling everyone they could keep their doctors did not improve morale.

I have pushed renewable energy for many years, but was frustrated when Obama gave money to incompetents. He has all these people giving him advice and he only seems to listen to Valerie Jarrett. Does he really believe she knows everything?

Obama has not done well, and I feel he is about to sell out Israel.
