It's been a while since I did a poll so forgive the multiple lines. There are really only 2 choices on this subject, both in the poll and in reality.

Butterbean --- 35 days ago -

Looks like a purple erection.

jackass --- 35 days ago -

Republicans have full control, this could have been avoided if they had done a better job...both choices of your ?poll? fail...bigly.

Emperor of Kingwood --- 35 days ago -

Apparently you don't know the Senate rules.

jackass --- 35 days ago -

You could be right about that...I?ll just agree with what President Trump said about government shutdowns in the past:

?Well, if you say who gets fired it always has to be the top," Trump said. "I mean, problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top and the president's the leader. And he's got to get everybody in a room and he's got to lead."

He said that further down in history, "when they talk about the government shutdown, they're going to be talking about the president of the United States, who the president was at that time."

Jepperd --- 35 days ago -

Apparently you don't know the Senate rules.?
Emp. I used to think you were somewhat neutral and level headed. I can see now that you have completely drank the Trump Koolaid. Sad.

Actually, they needed some democrats to vote with them. This is on the democrats. It seems they want to protect illegal aliens more than they want to protect our own children's healthcare.

jackass --- 35 days ago -

I corrected myself with a quote from the president...

jackass --- 35 days ago -

. It seems they want to protect illegal aliens more than they want to protect our own children's healthcare.

Also seems like the GOP is using children?s healthcare as political blackmail...if you?re being objective.

Trump Casinos- shutdown
Trump Airlines- shutdown
Trump University- shutdown
Trump Steaks- shutdown
Trump Vodka- shutdown
Trump Mortgage- shutdown
Trump Magazine- shutdown
Trump 1st Marriage- shutdown
Trump 2nd Marriage- shutdown
Trump government- shutdown

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

It's hard to blame a guy (Trump) for trying. But at some point if the same result (shutdown) is the predictable result. Why would regular people vote for this person? It looks like everything this person touches gets ruined. He (Trump) has done well for himself, up until now. But those that supported him. Were suckered.

I locked my poll bc I didn't want comments. Just votes. I stated that.
Thanks to those that voted.

I suppose I got my answer

Emperor of Kingwood --- 35 days ago -

You do understand that the process of funding the Government starts with the HOR, right? The HOR passed a CR last week.

Further, I'm sure you are familiar with the rules of the Senate that require 60 votes on funding bills.

Since the Republicans only have a, simple majority, that means Schumer and 8 other Dems have shut down paying the military to protect illegal aliens.

You must be so proud of them.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

The HOR passed a CR last week.
Wow. A CR....bfd Why cant they manage a budget for an entire,,,year? Bc they are republicans. Thats why. Incompetent republicans.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

Lame lame lame. That train of thought is just an excuse. If the GOP would represent the people that elected them, things like this would not likely happen.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

The HOR passed a budget. 9 times that budget has been blocked by Senate Dems.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

No one wants to loose their health care. Not everyone is cool with tax breaks for the top %. Again. If the GOP passed a budget that represented the people that elected them. Things like a shut down wouldn't happen. When will this resonate with you?

Emperor of Kingwood --- 35 days ago -

When will facts resonate with you?

Have you even read the law or do you just Parrott Dem talking points?

I've been reading the Markster for weeks and he truly doesn't know what he is talking about. He seems to parrot all of the dems talking points. If the tax law is so bad how come you don't hear Pelosi talking about it? How come you don't hear anyone talking bad about it? Could it be that millions of Americans are getting money they wouldn't have gotten had it not been for the tax cuts. He really doesn't know how our gov't works.

Butterbean --- 35 days ago -

Maybe it's time to get out the ruler and measure that purple line.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

Fact:
Temporary tax break. Expires in 10 years for regular people.
Fact: Permanent tax break for corporations with zero stipulation(s) to give pay raises to workers. Our tax dollars = profits to corporations.

the Markster --- 35 days ago -

He really doesn't know how our gov't works.

Our Gov is shut down. Its not working. One year into Trumps admin and we get nothing.
Why do regular people vote republican?

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 35 days ago -

10 Years is a long time. People are getting bonuses and raises. Google it. They will spend Mo' money and fuel the economy. Same for corporations. They too spend more when they have more. They also HIRE MORE PEOPLE. Did you not see where Amazon is building another facility requiring 50 THOUSAND NEW JOBS?? They are choosing the new location Based on certain criteria and one is tax cuts.

Welcome to reality.

All good for the economy. That's the bright side,

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 35 days ago -

Story here: Amazon looking for tax breaks when choosing new HQ

Emperor of Kingwood --- 35 days ago -

One year into Trumps admin and we get nothing.

Why do you want the government to take care of you?

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

Their new HQ will likely be in Canada

Emperor of Kingwood --- 35 days ago -

Our tax dollars = profits to corporations

It's not the government's money in the first place.

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

It?s not yours either

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 35 days ago -

REALLY unlikely, fuzz! lol!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 35 days ago -

This isn't the first time we have had a gov. shutdown- it happened under Obama, too- It was the pub's fault that time, and it's the dems this time-

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

Trump said it was Obama?s fault in 2013. It?s on video.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 35 days ago -

I'm not arguing about that, fuzz- I'm just saying you can't have it both ways! He says so many ridiculous things, I'm sure you're right, but you can't blame the republicans when it happens under their prez AND Obama.

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

Why would amazon HQ2 be unlikely in Canada? Toronto has made it to the finalists.

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

The fact is this is the first time in history there?s been a government shutdown under a single party controlled government

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 35 days ago -

I'll bet you a lunch Fuzz, that they dont go to Canada. Seriously, you and Mrs. Fuzz, on me.

But 50k new jobs!! It's a great thing! This economy is humming. That many new jobs is going to be great for lots of people. Like Trump or not, it's working. I'm looking for positive things, and they are there.

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

Have you ever been to Canada?

fuzz81 --- 35 days ago -

Amazon has been planning this long before trump. Learn the facts.
