Feel better now?

Froggie --- 9 years ago -

wow....I've very rarely experienced the issues you outline here with the exception of leaving your cart in the middle of the isle, but a simple excuse me usually takes care of that.

I am nice and polite most of the time and get back what I put out there....just sayin'

: )

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 9 years ago -

ditto Froggie! Ive never either. I thought this was a joke at first. Lol

Froggie --- 9 years ago -

somehow I don't think he/she is joking...

Do you shop on the weekend? If so, this may be your problem. The people who shop on the weekend are not stay at home moms and do seem to be much more impatient than the people who shop during the day on a weekday. They have to be there and really do not want to be. I know they are rude and need to be taught some manners but I'm sure it is too late for them now.

Before Christmas, I was shopping with my sister. I was down the aisle from her when a lady came up shoved my sisters cart against the rack and reached over her and the cart to get a box of Christmas candy. Never saying excuse me, f-off, or anything. It was quite rude. During that shopping trip, three or four people did rude things. Guess they were in the holiday spirit.

Bottom line, some people were never taught to be courteous.

Just stuck --- 9 years ago -

Weird that The Watchful Eye is giving etiquette lessons when he/she is extremely rude to everyone else in the Country... No wonder people say Kingwoodians are snotty. Please just get over yourself! Now I'm going to make myself another cup of cawfee and cawl my friends in Kingwood. I escaped from the Livable Forest and Texas.

You've never been up north to the lesser states, have you?

Relatively speaking, yes Texans have good etiquette.

Porter Wagoner (Mod) --- 9 years ago -

Dear Miss Manners,

I feel it is my duty to inform you that someone in my area is trying to impersonate you. Copiers and impersonators are suppose to be the sincerest form of flattery, but in this instance, I'm not sure that is the case. Could you please set the record straight?

Sincerely,
A Country Music Icon Poser

You're a tool. In your mind, good etiquette is calling anything other than Texas a "lesser state"? Calling people libtards, Yankees, being a self centered bigot, racist. Yeah, you're chalk full of etiquette.

So I politely (but of course rudely) put my hand up as an interruption point and inquired " Ma'am, where are you from? Let me guess, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana???

DAMN YANKEES! RUDE SOUTHERNERS! Stick it with your rudeness!

'cause real Texans never have bad etiquette. Bless your heart.

FUNNY!!!!!

whatchamacallit --- 9 years ago -

Oh and let's not forget! Please do not touch EVERY single piece of fruit or veggie, squeezing them into oblivion! I see people simply pulverizing every avocado and bunch of bananas, so much so that even their kids are doing it. That is not right, it ruins the fruit and makes it rot faster, making prices higher. Also, keep your kids hands off the produce, they aren't going to buy it so they are just passing on the load of germs they picked up at school today.

Really hate the cart in the middle of the aisle thing too!

If you can go to the store between 10 and 2 you will be happier. People that are there during that time are not in a hurry and they do not think the world revolves around them. After 3, you can expect Moms with lots of kids blocking aisles, hanging on their carts or playing chase and hide and seek in the store. After 4:30, the road rage seen on 59 going to and from Houston everyday is also seen in the store. Mondays are the worst, second to Friday. People are mad about their day and take it out on others.

Provide a single example of my use of "libtard", Francis. While you're at it, search for my use of Yankee.

I totally own you.

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 9 years ago -

the next time someone takes a cart and jams it in to my butt, I'll try to remember to ask where they're from! LOL!

Instead, you should ask who their insurance carrier is. Maybe they will think twice about ramming someone, next time!

Warren Peace --- 9 years ago -

A list of issues with grocery store behavior?

Wow. Are we sure the problem is everyone else?

1. Is this wrong and are we not supposed to do that?
and
2. It is always good to flirt back after the initial icebreaker. Good move.

DVaz --- 9 years ago -

This is why I shop late night.

Nothing ticks me off quite like a cart in the aisle.

Zapper009 --- 9 years ago -

Let me say it gently...SOUTHERN B*TCH!!!

RedMulch --- 9 years ago -

I'm starting a poll. Watch for it.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

Hence I hate grocery shopping. I got during down times between 1:30-3 after the moms rush to pick up their kids and go home before they bring them into the store and after 9 pm.

Anytime people get in my space, I step on their toes, bump into them,, elbow them, and act like it is a total accident. Move it or lose it, I say!

Last week, I had someone occupy the entire length of the check out area. She left her cart in front of the belt so we could not advance forward to load up the empty belt. She picked up her bags off the turnstile and walked backwards to place them into her cart. For a time, she owned that space.

I finally walked to the end of the belt loader, and unloaded my cart from the front end. She gave me a dirty look. shrug.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

Also just another reason why I don't shop at KW HEB. I find more rudeness in that store than any other.

You call the P/U drivers polite???

Nightshade --- 9 years ago -

Footnote; I made a reference to Yankees, let me clarify. In most cases where one of these infractions has occurred the culprit either had a heavy northeast accent or was wearing attire adoring some northeast venue. We appreciate a diverse community of different folks. Slow down, enjoy Kingwood and what it offers. Be friendly to people. You never know who you might become friends with or neighbors. You are in Texas and the South. Act accordingly.

Well aren't you a peach.

Pixtor --- 9 years ago -

What's a "P/U drivers"?

thekingsviewpoint --- 9 years ago -

I've had people shove my groceries forward to make room for just a few of their items. And then they stand right next to me when I'm paying.

I agree with The Watchful Eye about the etiquette.

Eliza2 --- 9 years ago -

Point of clarification Let me guess, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana??? Those are midwestern states. Yankees are from New York, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, etc

Gigix4 --- 9 years ago -

Been in Texas all my life and it was understood, anyone from north of the Red River was a Yankee. LOL

So awesome of you to sign up just to support her too! I'm sure she appreciates it!
LOL!!!

mutton --- 9 years ago -

I have never had any of these issues happen? Perhaps in ignorance is me!!! lol

unknown111 --- 9 years ago -

I'd like to throw in my 2 cents because this is ridiculous.

"You are in Texas and the South. Act accordingly." haha Texans are perfect? No Texan is rude?

First off, people in general (overall!) are a**holes. This does not ONLY apply to "Yankees" I have seen lots of crazy drivers, rude people, etc all over Houston, are all of these people "Yankees?" No. Some are complete rednecks. Yes, I'm a "yankee" and I was taught respect...it is not specific to northern or southern people. There's rude inconsiderate people everywhere, regardless of what state you are in.

Matalli --- 9 years ago -

I frequently wear my NY Yankee fan wear, and I've never lived farther north than Atlanta, GA! I didn't know I was being profiled!
