SleightOfHand --- 9 years ago -

Looks like another act of terrorism. Prayers for the families affected.News

a889324uu --- 9 years ago -

Yes, they are classifying it as domestic terrorism.
Anytime there is a hostage situation and mass casualties, it's terrorism.

them --- 9 years ago -

Jams commented so it must be a white Christian terrorist.

SleightOfHand --- 9 years ago -

"FBI Special Agent Ronald Hopper said the case was being investigated as a possible act of terrorism, either domestic or international. It was not clear if the shooter acted alone, he said. He said they were trying to determine if there was a connection with radical Islam.
"We do have suggestions that the individual may have leanings toward that particular ideology," Hopper said."

"She'll be so disappointed"

Naw, she will open the Book Of Liberalism and call me a bigot, racist, misogynist blah blah blah

Emperor of Kingwood --- 9 years ago -

Absolutely WRONG. Yet another attempt to redefine a word to fit a particular narrative.

FANCY PANTS --- 9 years ago -

He has been identified as Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29, of Fort Pierce, about 120 miles southeast of Orlando, two law enforcement officials tell CNN.

And he was a Democrat

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 9 years ago -

Lets NOT turn this into a "spitting" contest between Dems and Repubs, please, or into personal attacks or you will be cooling it in the ice house of internet banishment, LOL.

YOU have all been warned.

FANCY PANTS --- 9 years ago -

There is nothing wrong with pointing out someone is a republican or a democrat. I see that on here all the time. Does everyone get iced for it?

them --- 9 years ago -

Did Omar Saddiqui Mateen have any rebel flags?

Karras --- 9 years ago -

Lets NOT turn this into a "spitting" contest between Dems and Repubs

Maybe not a spitting contest, but there is stark difference in policies between the Trump and Hillary.

Hillary, following the Obama doctrine, of not naming our enemy, she won't even utter the words Radical Islam.

And if elected she will continue the policy of bringing in Syrian muslim refugees.

Trump, on the other hand, wants to stop bringing in muslims until they can be properly vetted. Trump has named the enemy, Radical Islam. Trump is not politically correct and will set policies in motion to reasonable immigration policies.

If we continue with the democrats "head in the sand policies" regarding muslims, then expect these terrorist attacks to occur more frequently.

gunsnroses --- 9 years ago -

The war is now in America. Will be interesting to see HOW and WHY the MUSLIM was here.

mutton --- 9 years ago -

He was American, born here, from what I heard earlier...

ISIS connection coming up

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

I read the same thing, Mutton. He was born here, his parents are from Afghanistan. His father is reported as saying he saw 2 men kissing and that angered him, but it had nothing to do with his religion.

And...

The latest reports are that he killed at least 50 and wounded at least 50. :(

Texan65 --- 9 years ago -

He was the child of immigrants....

Just like San Bernardino, the Paris attacks, London transit attacks...

Texan65 --- 9 years ago -

Immigrants from a muslim majority nation

SleightOfHand --- 9 years ago -

"ISIS connection coming up "

Isis made threats to Florida 3 days ago. Id say that's a pretty big coincidence. Just because he was born here means nothing. The religion that is so protected by our current administration, a religion of "peace", slaughtered over 50 people for their sexual preference. Many Christians may not like homosexuality, but Christians aren't going into gay clubs and massacring the people.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

So, what's the answer? Persecute and deport all Muslims even if they were born here?

He was "on the radar" of government officials, what does that mean? He had two legal licenses to own and operate firearms, according to news reports. What should have been the protocol to deny him access?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

"Blame it on guns" narrative coming up.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

From who?

Obviously, this guy is a homophobic nut job probably because of his religious beliefs.

However, he was born here and could legally obtain weapons. How should that have been different?

SoupIsGoodFood --- 9 years ago -

Just wait.........

The border patrol has their hands tied by this current administration when it comes detaining and arresting border crossers. I would hedge my bets that the FBI has their hands tied too when it comes to investigating possible extremists. If he was indeed being watched by the FBI, he should not have been allowed to pass the background check done by the gun dealer.

Texan65 --- 9 years ago -

Just stating facts, the club performed weapons pat downs before letting people in....

Karras --- 9 years ago -

Maybe not, but we can stop bringing them to our country.

We should be able to deport the ones that are going over to Syria to fight for ISIS. We should be able to deport or arrest those that are ISIS sympathizers. We should close down the mosques that have radical imams.

We need to close down all Harmony schools.

Lastly, we need to shut down CAIR.

Holling Vincoeur --- 9 years ago -

The world will be a much more peaceful place when the gullible and misguided give up the ghost and admit there is no such thing as an afterlife...

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

Right, so, where did the breakdown occur? The gun dealer not knowing he was on the radar or possibly ignoring it? He had two different licenses to carry, is that when he went on the radar? And, what does border patrol have to do with this situation? His parents are legal immigrants and he was born here in 1986/87 depending on his birthday. So, how could we have known then, what he would do now?

needsleep --- 9 years ago -

What is up with Harmony Schools?

Texan65 --- 9 years ago -

The individual was a trained security guard with a class g license. This was not a breakdown of gun control laws.

Dorothy Parker --- 9 years ago -

Thanks for clarifying.

So, if he was on the radar, what does than mean, exactly?

Texan65 --- 9 years ago -

Among causal factors in mass homicides is mental health, haven't seen anything on that yet.

Anyone know what percent of afghans believe in the death penalty for homosexuals?

Karras --- 9 years ago -

Anyone know what percent of afghans believe in the death penalty for homosexuals?

If they are true followers of Islam then 100%

Emperor of Kingwood --- 9 years ago -

Its well known and documented how Islam feels about being gay. Islam goes beyond merely disapproving of homosexuality. Sharia teaches that homosexuality is a vile form of fornication, punishable by death.

Challenger --- 9 years ago -

50 killed and 53 injured being reported on various web sites. Also being reported his father is/was an Afgan presidential candidate.

SleightOfHand --- 9 years ago -

"And, what does border patrol have to do with this situation? "

I was using it as an example of a government law enforcement agency who has their been politically limited from doing their job by Obama's administration. If they did it to one agency, most likely it has been done to others.

Karras --- 9 years ago -

They believe homosexuality is a crime and not a sin. Therefore punishable by death.

However, a muslim man can have relations with a boy, as long as it is before puberty.

Its juvenile and petty to attribute EVERYTHING on here that happens, to be a result of political leanings, and to use it to disparage people.

TinktheSprite --- 9 years ago -

A tragedy all the way around no matter what Party. No matter what religion. No matter what gender. No matter what race. No matter. It's just plain sad. Somebody lost child, a spouse, a cousin, a nephew, a niece, a parent. It's just sad.
