This is a KHOU poll that is taking a leap. I can't see this happening without medicinal marijuana first.

House approved it a while back. It won't happen though, yet.

Yes. Absolutely yes.

Judas --- 8 years ago -

Willie Nelson just announced some controversial news that will change his life forever.

The 82-year-old recently secured funding for his new cannabis brand, Willie?s Reserve.

Tuatara Capital is leading the investor group that is financing the development of Willie?s Reserve, a premium cannabis lifestyle brand. The New York-based private equity firm shares Willie?s passion and vision for the legal cannabis industry.

?I hear stories from people across the country about how the end of marijuana prohibition is improving their lives. Legal marijuana makes sense. Good business will prove it can work in America,? Nelson said.

Marijuana supporters are anticipating Willie?s Reserve ? a brand dedicated to defining quality standards for cannabis consumers. The controversal country legend is committed to supporting small, environmentally-cautious farmers. Willie?s Reserve will be grown, distributed and sold by local businesses in Colorado and Washington.

?Brands help consumers to navigate choices, and trusted brands offer a promise of quality and consistency. We believe in the role of these trusted brands in helping to shape the cannabis industry in the coming years and see the Willie?s Reserve brand, like its namesake, as being a vanguard in this exciting new industry,? Tuatara Capital partner Al Foreman, explained.

Conservatives weren?t sure how to react to the news that one of their favorite country musicians was launching his own brand of cannabis when Nelson announced his latest entrepreneurial adventure this past March. However, it?s hard not to admire Nelson?s innate conservative work ethic considering the expected $1 billion market of legal marijuana next year in Colorado alone.

?We?re really excited to partner with someone like Willie, who embodies this spirit of American entrepreneurship and conviction to a cause,? Foreman said.

Tuatara?s founders have a deep and broad professional experience that covers law, investment banking, capital markets and private equity. Their transition into the cannabis industry with Nelson couldn?t be happening at a more opportune time with the emerging market caused by the new legal marijuana regulations across the U.S.

?There is so much innovation happening in the cannabis space, and we are excited about the future prospects of the industry. We see incredible potential to support the industry in its growth and evolution. It?s all happening at unprecedented speed,? said Mark Zittman, Chairman of Tuatara Capital.

Willie Nelson intends his brand to be the Whole Foods of cannabis with retail stores, product lines, knowledgeable employees, etc.

?I will make sure it?s good or it won?t be on sale. There should be a menu just like in a restaurant because there?s so many different kinds of pot that do many different things. It?s a good idea to have everything labeled for what it does, what it don?t do [and] how powerful it is,? Nelson said.

Willie Nelson has always been a trailblazer, but now he will literally be blazing trails with Willie?s Reserve. Several studies have proven numerous health benefits of cannabis (physically and mentally) and states that have decriminalized marijuana have seen significant improvements in their economies.

Willie?s controversial career move comes with high risk, but the reward sounds even higher.

Do you think Texas should legalize the recreational use of marijuana?

Yes.

Yes.

I second that

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

I refuse to support anyone else's freedoms but mine. Lol

Its Mygirl01 --- 8 years ago -

No!

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 8 years ago -

yes.

RedMulch --- 8 years ago -

yes, of course.

Then I will open up a shop. I think I will put it in town center to start, then maybe open up a branch in Porter.

I wonder if you will need a license to open a shop? like a liquor store?

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 8 years ago -

probably-

*LOL* --- 8 years ago -

Most definitely. It is just as stupid as gambling laws. Let us get the revenues here instead of neighboring states. Pot is easily available to those that want it already, so by making it criminal only makes criminals out of regular folks and let's the real criminal get rich off dealing it. Get it out of the back room and regulate it.

RedMulch --- 8 years ago -

That is OK, I can pass that test.

I picture it with bulk baggies (I think the limit is an ounce) or some pre rolled, then, a smoking room where there are endless bowls of chips and popcorn and other munchies.

Maybe some glass beads hanging? any other ideas? lol

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 8 years ago -

a BIG register to put the huge profits!

Dorothy Parker --- 8 years ago -

Yes.

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

A topic that KU can agree on? Wow

What local grocery store wouldn't love that? I can see it now. Hookah parties in the parking lot at Krogers in one of those tents they put up around valentines day. I will be providing the entertainment inside.

Red Heifer --- 8 years ago -

DVaz --- 8 years ago -

There are ZERO legitimate reasons to keep it illegal for personal use.

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

Texas is not ready...

a889324uu --- 8 years ago -

Texas is not ready...

The people or our politicians?

I believe the people ARE ready.

Prolix Raconteur --- 8 years ago -

Would save me the trouble of smuggling goods back from Colorado. I wouldn't be opposed to legalization here.

I spoke to a clerk in a shop there and the taxes they've collected are staggering; far surpassing what they expected and mostly getting put back into their education system. It's a win/win except for an increase in traffic fatalities related to non-smokers or occasional users getting completely wasted and driving. Not unlike teens getting blind drunk and doing the same thing.

Judas --- 8 years ago -

yes. and then I will open a bakery next door to the weed shop.

No need to. The weed shop is a bakery. Can you say edibles? lol

AwesomeTattooedDragon --- 8 years ago -

yay! of course, it won't happen in Texas- at least, not yet-

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

Neither...texans overwind their toys.

Jepperd --- 8 years ago -

Im not so sure. 6 months ago what would you of said about gay marriage in Texas?

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

Have said...

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

Texas wouldn't allow gay marriage if they didn't have to...

a889324uu --- 8 years ago -

I disagree, stein.

I think most people are ready, but those that oppose it (and usually are smoking in their garages while publically condemning it!) just have louder voices.

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

Just trust me...even California isn't ready yet.

fuzz81 --- 8 years ago -

California can't handle it because of the increased water consumption as a result of the pasties/cottonmouth

mutton --- 8 years ago -

I just know am not able to partake, dam pee tests!

steinhoister2016 --- 8 years ago -

California is schizophrenic about stuff like that...

mutton --- 8 years ago -

Heard of munchies, what are pasties? Thought were for boobies...

Not KU --- 8 years ago -
