..... on Sandy Forks, west of Deerbrook? Has anyone seen this new construction¿

Gigix4 --- 8 years ago -

Yep - saw it but my guess was that it was going to be an outdoor kitchen.

freebyrdll --- 8 years ago -

The Ibeams were erected today... Appears to be a large aluminum building of some sort

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

Cool!

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

Had a chance to really look at the construction today. Looks like they are putting in a very large garage. Maybe for a RV or boat. It takes up just about the entire back yard.

TinktheSprite --- 8 years ago -

Are structures visible "over the fence, from the street",, etc allowed in that village?

mutton --- 8 years ago -

I would have thought not?

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

A shed can be 8 feet tall in any KW village so structures can be seen over the fence and if it is a garage it would defiantly be seen over the fence. I would think they got permission from the HOA. It's not like it's in an area where they would not be found out if they chose not to get permission.

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

If you are concerned you should call the HOA for more information.

Taken from Sandy Forks. I can see it... LOLOL!

Its Mygirl01 --- 8 years ago -

Is that the same house that filled in a swimming pool this summer?

Puss In Boots --- 8 years ago -

Oh wow. If I lived there I would not be happy. I can hardly stand it when my neighbor parks his big boat in his driveway in obvious disregard for the rules.

Pffft.

freebyrdll --- 8 years ago -

Same house

ThisLady --- 8 years ago -

Filled in a swimming pool? What did they fill it with?

freebyrdll --- 8 years ago -

Landfill, sand, etc.

ThisLady --- 8 years ago -

Why? Who does that??

freebyrdll --- 8 years ago -

Who knows?!? Obviously the people who live there do! ;)

Its Mygirl01 --- 8 years ago -

That seems too big for a neighborhood, glad I don't live by it!!

freebyrdll --- 8 years ago -

Agreed.

ThisLady --- 8 years ago -

Silly people, pools are expensive. Not to mention FUN ;)

andreweggplant --- 8 years ago -

Not sure how anyone can think this is "cool" in the neighborhood where it is located. It is going to be a monstrosity just like the house a couple of blocks from there. And the HOA's have nerve to complain about grass, weeds, dirty facia boards etc...

Leila --- 8 years ago -

It is so odd how the standards seem to be different for the various HOAs. I know someone who had to take their play gym down from the backyard because it was too high or something like that.

A neighbor got a letter that her son's net on his basketball goal was needing to be replaced (?) and another friend got a letter when she left a
jack-o-lantern on her front porch until Thanksgiving.

None of those things seem to be anywhere close to being as obtrusive as this big workshop or whatever it is. Maybe when it is completed it is going to be very nice looking and not an eyesore. But if I were a neighbor I will admit, I would be a little concerned.

Mayberry --- 8 years ago -

People fill in pools when there has been a drowning or - they are afraid of a drowning. It looks like an RV garage

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

Cool because I would like to have one if my lot was big enough. I don't think my lot is big enough and it's 1/2 acre. They filled in the pool and then had the foundation laid. I'm sure they were allowed to do it because of the monstrosity that was build a few streets down. Once a HOA allows something like that, they really can not deny anything else. It is enormous and looks like it belongs on 10 acres. At least the neighbors will not have to here a bunch of screaming kids in that pool.

FANCY PANTS --- 8 years ago -

I hope it will at least be made of wood or brick and not metal.

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

What is a pole barn??

What monstrosity? What pool had screaming kids in it?

and yeah, WTH is a pole barn, haha.

My thought is it is going to be a large garage for a mechanic. There are a couple of cars in the driveway with covers on them. Maybe the guy is into restoring vehicles? Just my two cents.

Susan --- 8 years ago -

I live in BB and I can't believe HOA is going for this!! First this person attempts to put in a pool, then it rains for the month of May and the unfinished pool fills with water. Next the water stand for weeks until it is drained and before you know it dirt is brought in to fill in the unfinished pool. Next rebar is brought in and laid for foundation and now we have steel beams erected! I asked one of the workmen what is being built and he said it was a garage!!! I get letters for my grand children's bike being left out, landscaping materials left on my driveway, as do my neighbors. We don't come close to anything like this yet HOA approved this????? I don't get it

Me either! And they send me letters, threatening a $200 fine for putting my bagged yard debris out the night before garbage pick! Jeezzz!

DVaz --- 8 years ago -

Maybe the house owner is on the HOA board...

SagaciousSighFiGurl (Mod) --- 8 years ago -

The HOA rules and regs only work on those of us who actually DO care about maintaining our homes. We respond to their ridiculous violations, mow our yards and PAY them. When you get someone who is a true offender, ie, their home looks like a drug den and like the Adams Family lives there it's so over grown and unkept, they seem paralyzed to do anything concrete about it. Funny how that works. But anytime there is a REAL eye sore, it stays that way while Gigi gets a note about her garbage bags. LOL

mutton --- 8 years ago -

Dam garbage bags...

OLDBIKER --- 8 years ago -

Bunch of mrs Kravits, get over it.

That's a false statement. There is not one village that actually "fines" a homeowner for deed restriction violations.

Gigi's statement is false as cited above. As for the rest of your posting, there are state laws the boards must follow in dealing with the violators. If someone won't comply the red tape to get them to is time consuming and costly. It does get done in most villages if the board wants to proceed in that direction but it does take time. Some never comply and pay the price when they try to sell because there's a lien on their property.

So when you get angry because you think a board is going after you and not your neighbor down the street who is in more violation than you are, guess again. The board is working on it.

On the other hand, I can't believe the Bear Branch Village board approved this structure. If I were you I'd gather all the residents and attend a board meeting ASAP.

Nightshade --- 8 years ago -

OMG.....I am horrified by this! What was the board thinking???

I live near this and know that this plus that humongous house on Lost Lake are going to reduce our property values. You want to build a structure like this, MOVE TO PORTER. We neighbors need to band together and go after this board. For starters, the board president needs to be removed.

PM me if you have time to write something up and get signatures.

Nightshade --- 8 years ago -

Better yet, contact Kingwood Association Management by email before next Tuesday's board meeting. PM me and I will give you the best email address to use.
